  • Mr. Sardar Muhammad, the Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, attended the 23rd China Shantou (Chenghai) International Toys & Gifts Fair and witnessed the signing of an MOU to establish friendship association between the All-Pakistan Toys Traders Association and Shantou Chenghai Toys Association.
    On the evening of October 24, Mr. Sardar, joined by delegates from other Consulate Generals in Guangzhou, and met Mr. Peng Congen, Vice Mayor of the Shantou Municipal People’s Government who extended a warm welcome and provided an insightful overview of Shantou’s industrial landscape and cultural characteristics. In a follow-up meeting with Mr. Li Hongzhao, Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Shantou Municipality, Mr. Sardar had in-depth exchanges with Mr. Li on further promoting the multi-faceted relations between Pakistan and Shantou. Additionally, Mr. Sardar met with Ms. Cheng Xiaoqun, Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shantou Committee, and discussed prospects for enhancing bilateral trade and investment in sectors such as toys, textiles and garments. Following meetings with leadership of Shantou, Mr. Sardar attended the Fair’s Opening Ceremony. The impressive performances, creatively integrated with toy themes, made a lasting impression on everyone.
    On the morning of October 25, the Acting Consul General over saw the MOU signing ceremony for establishing friendship association between All Pakistan Toys Traders Association and Shantou Chenghai Toys Association. Mr. Sardar, also held fruitful discussions with leadership of Chenghai toys association including its Vice President Mr. Chen Liang,
    Marking Pakistan’s debut at the event, a 90-square-meter booth displayed a range of Pakistani gift items, including traditional wooden and stone handicrafts as well as handstiched footballs. The exquisite exhibits drew a significant number of visitors, making Pakistani Pavilion a standout attraction.
    Following the MOU ceremony, the Acting Consul General received interviews with Guangdong Radio and Television and Shantou Radio and Television at the Pakistani Pavilion. During his interactions with media, he presented a special hand-stitched Pakistani football commemorating the 73-year friendship between Pakistan and China, emphasizing Pakistan’s global reputation for producing top-quality footballs. He highlighted Pakistan’s status as the world’s fifth-largest market, with a population where over 64% are under 30 years old, signaling vast opportunities for investment in the country’s toys and gifts sectors. Calling on stakeholders to harness Pakistan’s strategic advantages, he invited potential investors to visit Pakistan and witness its supportive investment environment, exploring opportunities to establish production units in Pakistan.
