  • How to Operate Headlights (2015-2023 Mustang). Today, I’ll be showing you how to operate the headlights of a 2021 mustang. You’ll find the headlight control located on the dashboard, to the left hand side of the steering wheel. The first position on the dial will have the lights turned “OFF”, with only the daytime running lamps being active. Rotating the dial to the second position, will turn the parking lights on, as well as your tail lights. Selecting the third position on the dial, will activate the headlights. The fourth and final position, will engage the automatic headlights. Selecting this function will automatically control your headlights, turning them “ON and OFF”, by monitoring daylight with a Censor at the base of the windshield. Your high beams are controlled using a lever, on the left-hand side of the steering column. With the headlights on, push the lever forward toward the front of the mustang. A blue indicator will be displayed on the instrument panel, letting you know the high beams are active. To turn the high beams off, pull the lever back, toward the rear of the Mustang. The blue indicator will disappear, as well as your high beams.

Do you by chance know why mine keeps doing warning chiming sound, even though all doors are closed and seat belts are plugged in ( with no seatbelt light) ? always keeps doing it for like 3 minutes.

      Is your car on?
Usually when I have it on the second option it'll chime for whatever lol
Your car lights won't turn off automatically when you lock it if it's in the 2nd 3rd option

@alexfranco6653 ye every time I turn on the car. It makes the warning sound for some reason for about 3 minutes. And when I drive for like half an hour randomally while I drive, it does it again. I leave the lights on automatic. But I have aftermarket headlights, maybe that's why? But tbh I'm used to it now, haha

@loran740 most likely that lol. For stock at least when it's in automatic it won't chime
      Only those other options lol

Can you turn off the day lights so just have no lights at all

No, they can’t be turned off. Once you start the car the day time running lights are always on.

@@TheRedStang227 thank you for coming back to me. That seems a waste a light bulbs if your driving in the day. I have a Hyundai coupe siii, I think in America they are called tiberon.

No problem, they are supposed to be a safety feature. Making your car more visible to other vehicles and pedestrians.
