A Beautiful New Zealand Wedding Video Set At Kauri Bay Boomrock, Auckland

I count myself pretty lucky when thinking about all the places this dream job takes me. It’s extra special when I can take my family though. When Pernille & James reached out over 3 years ago (yup, feels like a parallel universe now!), we connected like long lost mates. Heather and I decided right then that we’d plan a big ol’ fashioned North Island road trip in our family caravan, The Mint Trip! …it meant a number of firsts for our young children. 1st trip to a big city (they’ve lived in a South Island country town of 300 all their lives), 1st visit to the SkyTower & Kelly Tarltons (Stella would still be on that darn travelator now if I hadn’t dragged her away), 1st time being awestruck by the the volcanic plateau, the list goes on. We have Pernille & James to thank for these experiences as we’d never have ventured as far as Auckland in our retro caravan otherwise!
I had a feeling this wedding was going to be special and this was confirmed when Pernille came running down her driveway and gave me the biggest hug I think I’ve ever had from a bride! I remember her looking at my truck, with it’s ear-piercing fan belt squealing 🙈 and her exclaiming ‘I’m surprised you even made it up!’ To be fair, we didn’t get off to the greatest start to our road trip, with one of the caravan tyres catching fire 🔥 just a few hundred metres from our home, but that’s a story for another day…
There wasn’t a moment on that January day that wasn’t magical. I left this wedding feeling warm and ecstatic for these two. I’ve seen this film now - in various stages of the edit - probably over 200 times and I’m still smiling all the way through so I hope you do too.
