One of my favourite character development arcs is Makoto's himself. From losing his parents due to which he becomes indifferent to life and death, to become the person to help save the world. He has come a long way. You should watch the 4 anime movies for Persona 3 and don't worry, there are no Episode Aigis spoilers. PS: Bad with english.
this persona game is easily my favorite in the entire series the meanings and the message just hits hard especially with the epilogue now paid dlc the answer its just the perfect story

Did you know he dies in the end? like I bet you know now but in the moment I was like this was for the best Just in case you don't know why When he absorbs Nyx back into his body it takes all of his health which makes him sacrifice himself for the world As he goes on throughout the days till graduation he's in a lot of pain internally and getting more and more tired everyday but he hangs on because they promised each other they would make it to graduation so he held on till it was just to much so having Aigis reassuring him that everything is finally alright and you can rest now allowed him leave peacefully
This was so cool to watch! I gotta say, as someone that started with P5 too, I think I prefer P3. I prefer the characters and the story. Combat isn’t as balanced but it’s so damn smooth and fast, it just felt better to me. And I love how like, character moments were tied to the story. In P5 your teammates having social links complicated things, as the game couldn’t be sure where in a character’s development you were at any given time, so their development in the social link wasn’t reflected in story moments. P3 doesn’t have that problem, and has their development gradually and naturally happen throughout the story. Also, while I loved palaces my first time through, I find that they’re not nearly as fun when replaying the game. Whereas Tarturus, imo, is just a playground where you get to run around and engage in fluid fun combat. So I find that in replays it ends up being more fun. So for me, it’s P3 > P5 > P4 No shade to P4, I still love it, but I have a few bigger problems with it and it doesn’t hold up mechanically to P5 and P3. Imo a remake would help a lot.

Also, just a heads up if you plan on playing episode aigis dlc. Its a bit grindy, no actually too much of a grind for a short story. Maybe twice the grind you do in tartarus. So if you plan on playing it eventually, i suggest you go with the easy difficulty if you only want to know the story. Even in easy mode it looks like youre playing on normal difficulty tbh because of the changes they made in grinding mechanics
