Recipe :
Moong Dal Pakoda
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
1 cups yellow moong dal
2” ginger, finely chopped
3-4 green chilies, finely chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
1 bunch Coriander leaves
A pinch Baking soda
Salt to taste
For Chutney:
4-5 Kashmiri whole red chilies
½ cup garlic
2 tbsp roasted chana
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp Lemon juice
Method:
Grind the moong dal to a coarse powder. Soak in hot water for 10 minutes.
Grind again to a paste with more water if required.
Add the remaining ingredients and beat well.
Drop lemon sized balls in hot oil and fry till golden. Remove and serve.
Soak the red chilies in water. Grind together with all the ingredients and little water. Serve.

We can't use rice, daal without washing it for 3-4 times. Better to wash daal n then soak in hot water

Maharashtrian recipe: for those who doesnt want to make pakodas out of moong powder.
Wash moong dal.
For half hour soak in water.
Rinse the water.
Grind it without water.
Add carrom seeds by crushing on palm.
Add jeera, green chilies, garlic,salt, turmeric.
If you want add pinch of eating soda. As it turns out oily we skip it sometimes.
Now deep fry them.
