@@theryukan1044 It is disappointing when it seems that no matter what the axis do, slaughtering the Allies forces in Africa, taking down half of the Soviet's tanks, they will always lose.

@@doctorx7805 well it is more like that the allies have no shit players and the soviet player is always good and i mean that is also good because when the soviet player is a beginner the war is over within a few months and than europe can' t be taken by allies

Soviets were shitting out shit tanks to make every tank encounter a 3 to 1 fight, while the Americans were shitting out maximum reliability tanks that were designed for Jack of all trades type of combat
The French were taken out before they could heavily invest in tanks

@@ilikewindows3455 focused on air. And prepared for the wrong war not even building a great tank till the centurion which is arguably the best tank of the war even if it didn't serve. Of course if you count that you can count the IS-3 and who knows which is the better of the two but overall I'm sure the centurion would have been better but uh yea British tank production was well weird till mid 1944

But yeh you right, Britain was in this weird moment where they prepared for the wrong war and it took them till the end for them to kick things into high gear for tank quality

@@whoknows7968 Not at all. They lost one army ok. But neither did the germans exploited that weaknes nor did the soviet front collapse. The germans stopped and the soviets rebuild everything. That's how eastern front works

Yeah real life barbarossa was insane, at the start the soviets had like 5 million men standing army and during the german push like 5 million soviets were killed or captured, yet by the time they were pushing on moscow they had mobilized another 5 million men. The losses in hoi4 for the soviets are often not nearly as bad as real life

@@shashwatsinha2704 yes, they were expecting the Japanese to attack as well ( I wonder what would have happened, how would the Soviets fight again 2 enemies invading from west and east ), but they didn't, so they focused entirely on the Axis.

I was saying that even the soviet soldiers nearer to the german border were not exactly at the frontline when the attack commenced.
I love HOI4 pockets stories.
I will never forget the game where i freed my 6 units defending a city against the Japanese as China for 2 years before liberating them.
Now one of my friends just started playing HOI4 too and he had a simular experience as me, when he played Nationalist Spain. The Carlists rose up and half his forces got surrounded in Zaragosa. But after defeating the Republicans in the South he drove north again and liberated his forces after being stuck between Carlists and Anarchists for a year. I just know that's going to be one of those HOI4 memories that are never going to be forgotten.

@@freeplex589 Well main reason for Russia to surrender in ww1 is revolution in the country and second they cant get supply from their allies because straits was blocked by Ottomans. Nothing like that happened in the ww2

They never ended up taking much Soviet industry or obviously any British or American industry. They just kept rebuilding

I mean to be fair what that is is overrunning a point in the field. You can't have too many men in a tile because that's just how volume works, so most of those are basically sitting in a camp, and if you dust out the frontline fast enough you can catch them by their pants down. And since they were surrounded... In effect they surrendered.

3:55 Yeah that really looks like they deleted the divisions instead of letting them finish the battle.
If you delete them you get your manpower back, right? It's been quite sometime since I played this game.
@@danielm.595 If they are encircled you get 25% of the manpower but loose all of the equipment. What happened here was since he won the battle, the reinforce meme where you kill the fighting divisions before reserves can be brought into the battle, the units on the last tile with no where to retreat to are automatically destroyed.
It looks like they just got reinforce meme'd, and overrun since they were encircled when the battle ended
I love how the Minsk pocket and the salient around it almost looks like the Smolensk pocket IRL if you squint your eyes

I think the reinforce chance should be boosted for pocket defense. It's more realistic and leads to more historical outcomes (like the Germans holding out in various ports on the French coast into '45).

Their mistake here was stopping the push on USSR after all those encirclements, they gave the USSR just the time they needed to replenish their losses with their massive industry. They should have used their window of opportunity to finish the job while the USSR was still weak and recovering. I believe they could've striked the killing blow West of Kharkov around the 6:35 mark, since USSR only has 5 inf per tile their, they easily could've focused their tanks there and then done a big push South and cut off the entire southern front which is around 3 armies worth of inf divisions. As amazing as that Africa play was, they should've dealt with USSR first.
