It's very amazing how you are always smiling when playing. It gives a stranger the impression that you are very joyful and kind that's really beautiful
Ray, great work. I'm a composer and orchestrator who comes from a band/woodwind background. Your videos are a great resource for me as I grow into these roles. I need you way more than you will ever need me. :)
OMG I’ve learned artificial harmonics just by watching this video! I’m going to surprise my teacher in the next lesson🤭 Time for practice now. Thanks Ray❤
Ray can you please conduct a masterclass for complete biggners. How to hold the VOILIN left and right hand how to hold the bow etc. Many will benifit from that Love from india
Hi! I think you can check out that tutorial on youtube(if can't find a teacher for a reason) cuz world-class or not the basic things you've mentioned are pretty much the same except for further in-depth like "tension". There's so much to learn from him that it is sometimes not necessary for a beginner and even intermediate "yet" there are so many other things to look up first. But if Ray actually does it then he probably has some kind of world-class level mindset or knowledge that again, a beginner wouldn't be able to practically 100% understand yet. I hope you will be able to start playing violin and love and care from a community :D
I have to admit, I'm not a musician but watching these sort of videos is really interesting. Also, that dbz reference made it even more worth the watch. Thanks!
3:25 so you can be happy that in a sense you are practicing two things at once, actually three at once , because Extreme bow control is required for harmonics which is way more difficult than normal notes It would be like in Dragon ( Moses??) when they are trained in high gravity situation . So when you go back normal to notes you are going to feel ..... (這段我聽不清楚) So it can be a bit frustrating, but with patients and a lot of notes checking you will get there.
I wish he would make a video on how to do fingered minor thirds and minor sixths. I am really wrestling with them in the 3rd mvmt of the Paganini concerto 1. In fact, it would be nice to just have a RUclips tutorial on that whole double stop section in that concerto. That’s probably the hardest passage in the whole piece.
Hi! Thank you for your video! It was very helpful! Could you please make a video that explains how to play with vibrato in higher positions? Thank you!
I would have liked to actually HEAR you PLAY the harmonics you talk about....like a scale or something. Definitely more than ONE NOTE. Example scale of BOTH type of harmonics :-( Could you please do another video on this?
A violinist named roman kim has invented a new kind of harmonics. Unfortunately no one is able to explain me the physics behind this. I understand the physics of conventional harmonics. Can you explain roman kims harmonics and the physics behind it ?
there was a very famous American violinist who would perform paganini 1st concerto and totally cut the double harmonics in the 3rd mvt.answers on a postcard please.

*plays beautiful clear harmonics* "I wish I could whistle" 😂
I wish I could trade my skill of being able to whistle for even half of his talent 😭
I loled
I want to now believe that he spent his whole life mastering the violin because he's always been self conscious about never learning how to whistle 😂
who needs whistling when you can play perfect harmonics XD !

How to tell you're starting to become a fan of Ray : watch his video teaching about violin techniques when the instrument you actually play is piano
Some, only that I play the flute xD
Flute, guitare and piano ... Why am I here?
Wait, so you are not practicing harmonics on the piano? What about vibrato? :D
Olivia Pereira you can play pizzicato, but only on a harpsichord
Nah i watched a video bout TwoSetViolin playing something with harmonics in the video “How techniques were invented” or something like that
"The voice of angels" lol. The shaky screeching sound I produce is the screaming of suffering souls in hell.
It's very amazing how you are always smiling when playing. It gives a stranger the impression that you are very joyful and kind that's really beautiful
OMG I can't whistle too! I have something in common with a violin virtuoso!
You're probably also living on the same Planet as him
I can’t whistle too
DerSibbe savage

The only thing I have in common with a violin virtuoso is the fact that I own a violin 😂
