Fred Gwynn was such a versatile actor. Lovedhimin Car 54, The Munsters and My Cousin Vinnie. Actors like him are sadly missed. Apparently he lost a child during the making of Car 54 as I understand it. That really changed him. As a father it would have crushed me also.
He also starred in those intense and powerful plays such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Texas Trilogy, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. I know for sure he was in other plays as well

I was 6 in 1966, so obviously I loved this show, back then there weren't many channels to choose from so the few big networks tried to outdo each other which made for some great shows, like this one. Thank you for video.🙏
Still watching in 2024... Love this show, what great writers and producers!!!! I watch it everyday, a complete pleasure... Every episode is sheer genius!!! ❤❤❤❤....
There is a reason my girlfriend sleeps in a totally separate room downstairs. She recorded me and my two bobcats in bed together snoring together. Nobody not even an airline pilot could sleep thru that kinda noise we make...
Ohhhhhh trust be bruh....your bobcats have NOTHING on my father when I was young! He was so loud I could hear him in MY bedroom and I used to wake my mother up to tell her to get HIM to stop snoring! LOL!
Yeah, it's like the polar opposite of the rest of the house. You know, I always wondered why her bedroom was different from the rest of the house? I mean, we know she looks different from the rest of the family, but you would expect her to have the same kind of taste they have, when it comes to furniture and decor. :)
Mr. Benson looks like one of the desirable dates from the board-game "mystery date," only he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. One of my favorite episodes. LOL 🤣🤣
@@retroguy9494 Yes, it was a bit contrived. But I liked when the host and the guests turned sideways and the blew a kiss to the audience at the end of every show. 😊
27years old and I grew up watching this, 2023 and I still watch it every chance I get (3 times a week that and Addams family I love old black n white cartoons)
I've read that the Herman Munster costume weighed over 40 lbs. and almost 50 lbs. Whatever the actual weight was, it was rough on Fred Gwynne, but he still managed to gift us with an eternally loveable character. Bless his beautiful soul.
Man, Grandpa really gassed out that living room good because it was still fuming when Herman rushed down to the dungeon to get the spell book after putting Grandpa on hold, including the time it took to inadvertently call him a Boob before answering the phone. And for some reason fast motion even made the scene seem longer, and gassier.
LOL, Hollywood makes doorway entrances Low and high for the actor to make them seem taller or shorter than they are in real life. Might have been just a goof/ blooper that was not caught before being aired. No one else played Herman in the entire series. Loads of info. to search if you'd like more info on Hollywood magic.
Al Lewis' Birthdate on wikipedia says 1923, but in an interview he himself said 1910. I tend to believe him why would anyone add 13 years to their age for no reason.

The only problem with that was that there WERE mean characters in Mary Poppins! Remember, P L Travers wrote the book loosely based on her own alcoholic father.
Pretty cool isn't he? When I was a kid, I used to wish I had a grandfather who was a vampire, a mad scientist and a sorcerer who could turn himself into a bat or werewolf and do all kinds of magic and neat spells! And who had a dungeon with a laboratory! LOL

How their stop themselves from laughing and there is no way they didn't? Hermen Munster the Frankinstien of comedy but here's a think the greatest funniest movie made Young Frankinstien I wonder is that part of the same universe you think though these are from totally different times I wonder did Mel Brooks ever see this show or have a hand in making it and he probably Know Al Lewis and Fred to? Of course if there a chance of proper remake there's Mel Brooks to make it and casting has to be sure of the right actors I think Hermen should be Ted Danson and his costar from Cheers and wife of Fraisers Lilf as Hermens wife? And Grandpa in the past thought Robin Williams now it hard but to pick one but Danny Devito? But it is just a quick idea?

5:30 that isn’t Herman, look how short he is in the doorway, the next scene, Herman is almost as tall as the door

All the actors were great in this show. Pat Priest and Butch Patrick are the only living original cast members.

I know, right⁉️
Herman the gentle giant
I sat in the Car with my Late Husband and my daughter when she was baby it was great I have a photo of that day
why dont you upload full epispdes?
Because of the copyright laws. They would be taken down as soon as he puts them up!
Fred Gwynn as Herman was so cool at times and such the nimrod other times
Do you have the ending part when Herman get a ring stuck to his finger, and has to go to another scientist to get it removed?
Way too many intrusive ads.Ruins the video.
That’s more RUclips’s fault than the uploader. RUclips has been getting extremely greedy lately.
Scroll to the end of the video and then hit the replay arrow. Commercials gone.
