We ended up renting a motorbike today because we found that the tuk-tuks were rather expensive. We rode out to the Nam Xay viewpoint and were surprised at how difficult this short hike was. Since we were unaware of the difficulty of this hike, we wore bathing suits and sandals. We definitely recommend wearing sneakers. :) Regardless, the hike up was worth it because the views were absolutely insane as you can see. This viewpoint is situated on a lonely mountain surrounded by taller peaks.
It was so peaceful at the top and then we made our difficult trek back down. Due to our poor planning, we ran out of time to visit the blue lagoon. We saved that for another day! Vang Vieng is an incredible city with a really cool vibe. We hung out in town for the night and grabbed dinner at a restaurant on the river.
