    I hope you see this because watching your page has given me the courage to finish my last few classes of my BSN and join the military. I too felt stuck. The travel money was nice but I have always wanted something more. I hope that one day soon I can have a similar story! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us, Genesis! I can feel the love, passion and commitment through the screen. I have submitted my package to the USN and awaiting a response. It has been quite the process from rushing to obtain my BSN from having my ADN, to submitting letters of recommendations- the whole 9-yards. I am so excited and ready for the next steps of my life, and I watch your videos and they give me confidence that I am in fact taking the right step. Question: Once you're credentialed in as Critical Care, how hard is it to get into CRNA school into USUHC, would you happen to know? I am curious in taking that route. Also, would you happen to know if the military uses Acute Care Adult-Gero NP's? Thanks for these awesome videos, mate!

    • @genesis.kts_
      @genesis.kts_  Месяц назад +1

      CRNA in the air force/ navy is VERY competitive. It's not impossible, but there are stepping stones that you must take to get there. Air force goes to USUHS as well, and my understanding is that that is a navy program. CCRN, is just one of many things you need to get done. I honestly am not well rehearsed with the road map of t he navy. however, i know that it is possible and a lot of doors open for those in the navy who step up to the plate for advanced degrees etc.

      @@genesis.kts_ I watched your videos in order and didn’t understand if you entered AF as a nurse officer or not? Did you have to take Entrance exam (academic) of any sort?
      Are you doing reserves or active and what was the decision process to decide?
      I am thinking about entering AF as a nurse but in the process of learning as much as I can about it. Specifically about commitments / different options and their timelines / compensation, of course.
      Anything you can shine the light on - is appreciated!

    Can you join the air force as a new nurse graduate without experience

    • @zacharyfletcher4253
      @zacharyfletcher4253 2 года назад +2

      Yes, but it's competitive. If you get accepted as a new Air Force Nurse without experience I believe you get to choose between Med-Surg or OB (this is what I heard, but am not 100% sure). Your best bet is to contact an Air Force Healthcare Professions Recruiter (not your standard Air Force recruiter) to discuss your options

    • @genesis.kts_
      @genesis.kts_  2 года назад +1

      this is true. It is VERY competitive without experience. At least a year of medsurg/icu/or OB would suffice.

    I have so many questions. Is there a way for me to personally speak with you? I'm currently a junior in high school and I want to be a military nurse in the USAF. I'm in my high school nursing program but I don't know where to start on the military side of things. What do I do? who do I speak with, how do I get started with this goal? I also have questions concerning travel, do get military nurses get stationed across the country/overseas. What is the requirements? Does the military aid with payment of college with nursing? Do I sign a contact before college? I just don't know who to speak with concerning these things.

      Do AFROTC in college and compete for an HSSP (High School Scholarship Program-a full ride scholarship) and attempt to get a Nursing EA. This is the fastest way to become an air force nurse and at the lowest cost possible!

    What type of nurse did you join as? I have a year of tele, and am training in the cvicu now! Looking at my options and as an Air Force brat I’m intrigued. Also, random but if you are an icu nurse, do you get to work as a CCATT nurse also? Or is that just a deployment kind of situation. Thanks again!!
