@NotSnarl I always knew it was created by Alpha Denshi/ADK, even as a little girl I could notice that there was not any SNK logo in the games, SNK only published ADK's works and bought their properties when ADK went bankrupt, but still most people misinform saying that World Heroes was created by SNK, some because of ignorance and others because of fanaticism, wanting to give SNK more credit than it deserves and belittling ADK's work. This is very unfair, ADK deserves credit and recognition for the games they created.

I think that's the first example of that type of laugh in fg's, because this series is so old. Jeanne is older than Samsho's Charlotte, who also has that laugh. Of course the most popular example of the laugh, just because it's Street Fighter, turned out to be Karin, created much later.
She didn't have that laugh at first, Janne's laugh was changed from World Heroes 2 and honestly, I preferred her original laugh. But after SNK destroyed ADK's Janne by changing her appearance, personality and even her name, the only change I liked that they made was to give her back a more normal laugh.
Thank you for such awesome TAS, and I'm happy to see Jeanne also in a recent game (SNK Heroines: TTF). I wonder who Will win in a match between her and Charlotte Christine de Colde?
On the contrary, her being the character I have loved the most since I was a little girl, I absolutely hated "Jeanne" and SNKH. Her name was JANNE and she's not even a character created by SNK, I don't know what sense it makes to bring back a character with another look, another personality and even another name. I wouldn't be affected by this kind of change in a character I didn't like too much but it breaks my heart to see everyone acting like her name was never "Janne" and hardly anyone noticing how different "Jeanne" is now. 💔

There are ways to balance them, but it's hard and tricky. And in the early 90s no company cared about balance and these kinds of game refinements. Those were the years of 70% jump in combos, infinites, loops, etc. It took some time for them to start caring about balance. But WH was already dead by that time. Too late to help it...

KOF imo should try to reapproach at least a little bit the original theme of Snk crossover, and offer in every new game at least 1 team of "misc. Snk/Neogeo history" chars (2 team would be great). In Xiv it was Muimui, LH and Nakoruru. In Xv they could bring a WH char, a Savage/Kizuna char, and Samsho again (a short reach char for balance like Hanzo, Kuroko, etc)
Well done keep gaming strong and with the pretty Janne excellent choice this games needs a part 3 or some kind of reboot this time with the bosses playable all 3 of them
It's very unlikely sadly. The only chance for these characters from Adk, Data East, Technos, etc is reviving NGBC to become a regular series. So KOF would be meant for it's own business (KOF abandoned long ago the purpose of being a crossover series), and then NGBC on the side would serve that crossover purpose.

Even the instruction booklet for World Heroes 2 suggests that Janne d'Arc and the actual Joan of Arc were rivals. Anyway, I'm very sad that SNK didn't want to respect ADK's work and Janne's original design just because "Janne d'Arc" doesn't give as much money or draw as much attention as "Jeanne d'Arc" due of series like Fate/stay night... but the original Janne will always be the character I have loved most since I was a little girl.
