I absolutely agree. The ultimate prove is this song Home, utterly beautiful, but very difficult. Most of the even very well known (female) vocalists didn’t dare to cover Home. I only could find a performance by Morissette Amon, but she failed hopeless. Not of course in quality of tone, because she has a beautiful voice, but in terms of storytelling and bringing over the different emotions. As if she wasn’t aware of the meaning of the words she was singing. Far more she did in no way justice to the beautiful melody of this ballad. Overall it was a rather monotone interpretation.

Whitney sang this song for the first time at 19 years old. I can imagine WH because I belong to the 80s generation for which you can't wake up in the morning without hearing a song of Withney or Mickael Jackson..;So it's simply amazing gift to hear again again Glennis singing with such perfection Whitney Houston. Ilse, I don't get it either. Glennis sings on a level that may be too high for many. Moreover, the Netherlands has many good singers. The competition is therefore very strong. They also blame Glennis for only singing covers and not having enough of her own work. The Netherlands lacks good lyrics and songwriters who can write and compose at Glennis level. Whitney Houston did not know that problem, because it was offered a huge amount. This year is not over yet, I have high expectations of Glennis. Because I have the impression that this young lady is very busy.

Have watched this dozens of times. Grabs my soul. I'm shook. She is amazing. And I am a HUGE Whitney fan. This is not about comparison. She does a great service to WH fans by keeping this music alive and doing it so gracefully and with so much soul and passion. I for one am grateful for how she is keeping Whitney's legacy alive. I will be the first in line to see her if/when she comes to NYC!

She does an amazing job and certainly has a powerful magnetic voice. When I listen to Whitney’s version on the Merv Griffin show it is equally passionate however the orchestra sounds very light as if they are only accompanying her periodically in the background. At the young age of 19 she was already destined to be a star. I too am taken by surprise at Ms Graces masterful quality and in my opinion she definitely comes close to Whitney’s version! So thrilled I found this cover!!!
Her voice is very similar to Whitney's. I always loved how verbally articulate she sings this song.

I love this song. I've listened many versions, from Diana Ross to Whitney and younger artists, but Glennice's rendition is the absolute best. Voice strength and timbre throughout the entire range. Syllable articulation. Expression. Simply perfect.
Except Whitney sang it first. The arrangement is Whitney's, not Ms. Grace's. Ms. Grace is phenomenal, absolutely. But Whitney's will always be so effortless. I would love to hear Ms. Grace sing other songs, not just covers of Whitney's. I will look for CD's. Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you, Ms. Grace! Your voice is spectacular!

But you noticed that he very convincing said twice that she has a beautiful, cristal clear headvoice and transition? 😋 His only remark was that some of her runs were not always exactly on point (but beautiful in there own way). But here comes my preoccupation: the runs and ad libs that WH did were unnessecary and non contributional to the quality of the melody sometimes.

I saw Whitney eight times in concert in the mid eighties. Glennis is the greatest female singer since Whitney and Whitney is simply the greatest female singer of all time. I am sure she loves Glennis and is smiling from above.

@@Rallew123 The greatest memory for me is seeing young Whitney the first two years she went on tour. I met and talked to her twice, once in Lake Placid at the Holiday Inn hallway, where she signed my album and at Saratoga after her concert, when she signed her second album. She had concerts the first two years she toured at the NY State Fair where I gave her roses at each concert when she was singing her opening song. She was really something back then. Of the eight concerts I saw her, I was up close 5 of the 8 concerts. If you like, go to you tube video (Didn't we almost have it all) and locate "MY WHITNEY STORY" and I reflect in depth my experience when I met her. I wish I could see Glennis in person but doubt that will ever happen as I am older now and there is no signs of her touring in New York State. Peace!!

I remember the first time I heard this song. Whether it was the DVD or via RUclips. But I was dumbstruck. How can you make such a perfect performance LIVE? It seems to me to be impossible and Glennis does that! With unprecedented perfection! How many times have I not listened to this song? And every time I get emotional and get goosebumps. I have admired many singers in my life, but never one like Glennis! It was not considered possible to experience this again that you encounter a singer like Glennis.

It was the first song of the night too, so nerves must have also gone through her body. But she nailed it and the whole show was perfect from start to finish! The concert has also been performed twice in Amsterdam, once in Antwerp, in Begia. For the time being, Glennis thinks it has been beautiful and is more involved with her own work.
