I just woke up with one next to my face, and I immediately looked up a solution. I cannot stand them!! Thanks for the information, I'm going to try these in the morning!
Hi thank you for making this video! I wondered if you had any tips for removing a silverfish from my laptop. It must have crawled into the Kensington lock
You must look around in your bathroom [WC], kitchen sink and have all water leaks repaired. Caulk all windows, cracks in exterior walls, and use weather stripping around doors. In Spring and Summer use a dehumidifier to reduce RH to 38-42%. Once that is completed you have a fighting chance to knock them out with water traps, boric acid, glue traps, and direct trauma. Avoid toxic chemicals, chorine, etc. Good luck!
@@xo3040 LOL Ikrrrr how can you like them?? I was just sitting on the toilet and a little bastard somehow jumped onto my shoulder and I flung it off and it ran away 😭😭
I've been trying to get rid of these for months in my room by using bleach, obviously it doesn't keep them away! I just saw 2 under my bed as well but they can't crawl up which is good. But it's still so disgusting and scary, at least 2-3 come out from under the skirting board every night. I'm gonna give this a try !
I saw like 2 or 3 in my room, I saw 2 like a month ago, but I saw 1 in my room today when i woke up. Im just worried if they could go inside my ear or something while sleeping
Method does not work at all... tried 3 jars of various sizes all taped up like the video and left them out for a month and zero silver fish took the bait.
@@jlind3891yes!! Another thing spiders have helped me with are carpet beetles. I never ever kill spiders (unless theyre poisonous), I probably have one or two in every room. Free pest control :)
they probably didn't go for the soapy water as the scent in the soap will have deterred them....as I do know that putting bars of soap in ones wool stash seems to keep them away too....along with cedar/rosemary/orange oil/clove oil....etc.........

I scared now, silver fish are bad enough in minecraft! Why must they exist in real life!

@@ernestobayalan3105 as someone who has a house infestation of silverfish, I’m scared and crying because of them but ur opinion..
@@ernestobayalan3105 But they eat books and papers. Wolf (no web) spiders get a free pass in our house, and that helps.
You’re supposed to put a couple teaspoons of sugar in the water as bait.
The 50 dislikes are from silverfish
lol!
🤣🤣

They're not disgusting to me, just so annoying... I really hate insects moving around and mess with my stuff😢
i might try the flower method, i need the silverfish alive cause i plan to add them to my vivarium

I found one on my bathroom ceiling...trust they can crawl
Did it work
I had a flood in my house and now years later I see them in the kitchen so I'm going to try the flour in the jar trap
Does salt work

Put a cracker with sprinkled sugar in the ßottom for ßest results
Collect some spiders; they love silverfish!!
Oh they do? That’s great. I Don’t mind Spiders at all. They just make beautiful webs no harm but silverfish makes me paranoid like crazy.

I hate to say this but I tried BOTH...and neither worked....see none in jar...saw several on my FLOOR
Same here.
Put bread in ut they love dry stuff
they like wawa --bath tub.
How do you fillet a Silverfish.
Does anybody know?
i wonder if you can eliminate using flour and pour boric powder in there.
Maybe attracted to flour as a food source
Great info!

Glad it was helpful!
doesn't using food as bait attrack additional bugs to your home? Like ants or Roaches ?
no i dont think so. you store food in your cabinets "as bait" all the time
what to put in the water in the bottle, I ded hear it clear
? thanks
flour goes in the bottle.
So you caught one silverfish?
catch anyting yet?
You need a ramp leading up to the jar because they can crawl up smooth surfaces.

Barb Kramer I'm about to make a metaphorical oozie out of a spray bottle and clove oil. Thanks
Wool stash?
@@judyl.761 Most people in the U.S. have a healthy stash of wool stored in their homes. Maybe not in your country
@@victorf8301 for wat reason
I read silverfish eat starch, so anything starchy, such as a slice of bread placed inside the jar should work too.
Great video, thanks :)
No problem!
Is that Murray from Flight of the Concords?
I know this comment is from years ago, but I am glad that someone else thought so too.

where can we find silverfish?
Is the tape sticky side facing out or in?

@@Howto..GardenGarageHouse how come they can climb tape but not glass?
Poor fishies got trapped
you r the best thx
i guess ill try it....
diatomaceous earth..cheap..it works
Your link to your channel on the top of the video is not working
Might also want to buy a gallon of Raid Max with an autotrigger, though, I've killed about thirty this summer using a spray bottle filled with bleach.
Diatomaceous earth under your house and in the house in corners will knock them out.
ITALIAN PLEASE :) TRADUCTION?
I like silverfish because they were the first insect added to Minecraft
Ahh why drown them of all ways to die?
Use bread, they're not attracted to soapy water.
they are attracted to moisture. Soap drowns them quicker but you need only a single drop of fragrance-free soap.
WTF
Why would you want to drown them unless you enjoy cruelty. Just catch and release them outside.
