  • In this video I will show you examples of hidden spines/hollow spine. Stitching right into the spine.
    How to reinforce the spine of an old book to sew in the signatures.
    Supplies used.
    Part 2 will be the hands on.
    NOTE: The Tyvek will not take acrylic paint. I forgot, I used a black Sharpie pen, I will note this again
    in part 2.

    Hi Dee, I really liked that very last book that you showed us. It was one of the gutted ones. I only wish I could find a few more with really beautiful art on the spine and/or cover. I know that I can make my own creations for those areas, but some of these really old vintage books, are just drool worthy. Nothing sends me to the moon, like old, vintage art. Thanks for sharing Dee.

    I like altered books. I didn’t do Nik’s course but she did kickstart my love of journalling. I’ve a fair number of unfinished ones, which is not good, but I love the process of starting something new. Hope to get back into it all when I feel better. Nice to see what you have.
