I clicked your account from a comment you made on a video somewhere else (i wont say incase it was private to you!) and i noticed your playlist cricut and had no idea what it was so ive watched a couple of your videos here so far and theyre great, I'd really love to try this but im so bad at things like this! However i have found watching you do it so relaxing and youre so talented!! ❤
I have always had problems getting vinyl on the glass straight. I didn't want to go to a wet method though. I found this tip a couple of days ago, and tried it. It worked perfectly the very first time. Such a simple way to do it. Thank you
you know i think this was my first video that got me stuck on making vinyl picture frames thank you! I love doing this and it's so amazing how the vinyl world has grown over the last few years. great video thank you for leaving it up!
Dry erase markers work great for those marks. You can even use a bright color. (I usually use hot pink.) Then it wipes right off really easy when you're done.
I'm applying to a picture frame glass size 8x10 hpow would I get it to fit right in the middle with out taking over the whole front glass? I want lil room all around same size. like how you left room around your tile. nice job
Wow.. I am amazed. I just pulled up myvinyldesigner and wow.. Since I have SCAL as well, I am excited about all the new possibilities. They are fairly inexpensive too!! Do you know if they email the file, or if they mail it? Thanks for posting this video! :)
Denise, Thank you for the wonderful tips!!! So did you use the SCAL software to use the My Vinyl Designs? Are you giving your friends a stand for the tiles, or will they be magnets? Again... TFS! I learned a lot! Joyce
If you mirror your design before you cut it, you can then apply it to the inside of the glass. This way it's always protected when you clean/dust the glass from time to time. I apply vinyl to my picture frames this way all the time.
Please be so kind as to tell me what type of vinyl you are using. I have a cameo, I use heat transfer vinyl for articles of clothing. Is this the same kind of vinyl? Or it outdoor vinyl? Please help!!!
I am applying a design to the glass of a picture frame. When completed, should the design be on the inside of the frame or on the outside (thinking I my need to reverse the design and it would go on the inside? I saw one video that it looked like it was just applied to the outside of the glass where the rough side was up. Can you shed some light on this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I believe I have the same question. I'm thinking that we will not have to reverse it, just keep the vinyl back, then add the transfer tape, which would leave the vinyl sandwiched between the 2 then her method in the video should work. (without reversing the image). Note: I use the front of my vinyl as the part that you will see; therefore I do not reverse it. My vinyl is opaque; therefore this way I do not have to worry about seeing any of the bubbles (as they are on the back) Hopefully this helps you. Maybe dihill can give us some more insight.
Please help! I apparently got confused on the order of the layers. When did you weed? i ended up with the followig order: glass, white paper (from back of vinyl) actual vinyl (not weeded) and transfer tape. All sticky side down. i have it on there, but now weeding while it's ALL already on the glass.
I apply it like she did in the video (not mirrored) and I just add the extra piece of glass on top. (which i like the 2nd piece so it's protected and not exposed). but yes, if just 1 piece of glass is used, then I like your recommendation on having it on the inside.

Ahhhh this is brilliant! I was so mad the other day when my vinyl was off center... Using this method from now on!!

Yes, I used scal. I'm not sure if I am getting stands for the tiles, or if I will try hang them with ribbon. I think they are too heavy for magnets!
Love the idea and the design! Where did you get the design? or did you make it?
What kind of transfer tape did you use?? Great video, I am ready to try vinyl, but I love the fact you can try contact paper.
Like the tile idea! ;)

can you tell me if there is a product that will "seal" or protect the vinyl once you have it on the glass?
If you mirror your image, you won't have to get an extra piece of glass.
Nice tutorial.
You're correct, but the vinyl will be exposed, which is ok with some people.
