- A man rescued from the White Rock pier during a recent B.C. storm is apologizing for his 'foolishness'. Oren Perry was on the boardwalk with his family as high winds whipped boats into the pier, which was eventually split in half. He was stranded alone and had to be rescued by a Royal Canadian Air Force helicopter from Vancouver Island.

At least he apologized. True Canadian
The Canadian TV is so gentle on him. Quite nice actually.
Lets not crucify this man for not being a perfect parents. He was rescued because the pier collapsed, so it was Mother Natures fault lol
@ Why do Conservatives always wish such nasty things on their fellow Canadians?
No to mention about for site of the wind and waves. Quit using the pier as a excuse.
Guy Souriandt: Why do leftists always project their own faults onto conservatives?
@Mario Lopez yea he better get billed for it. rest of the tax payer in BC not interested to pay for it.
How much an hour does that rescue chopper cost to operate? Great rescue in those winds the chopper crew definitely deserve a Christmas present hint hint.
I’m glad he lived to regret being foolish, and that he stated his regret publicly so that others might learn.
People go out onto the pier during winds storms all the time. The Pier was fully opened then. They were out there long before the mooring and/boats got loose and broke the pier in to two. Only when this unexpected break up of the pier happened, did police tell everyone to get off the pier. What were the people trapped at the END of the supposed to do; jump into the water? Most of them risked their lives and ran and jumped and passed through the breaking up of the pier as it was breaking up. This guy choose to stay at the end of the pier and this was probably safer.
I don't understand some comments saying this guy should pay for the rescue.
The only logical post on this video I swear lol
natural selection missed him this time
He already passed on his Genes. Dudes golden.
Not everyone is as smart as this guy. Just to get a ride on the helicopter. lol. Real Smart...
Shaking my head...
Glad he apologized and is alive to be embarrassed...
Was the pier closed to the public?
If so, he should be fined as a deterrent.
They should bill him for the rescue cost.
In the US you don't just get billed, you get criminal charges for being crazy like that.
@@hbarudi The US just wants to fill up their prisons,so average people can learn how to become a real criminal.
@Cool Man
Lol.... no, it is not free.
Join us back in reality...
He is lucky that the helicopter flew safely in that storm and that no one was hurt because of him.
Nah.
……….It’s like what was he thinking 🤔? Not the brightest of a brainer, his demeanour certainly says it all…….at least he apologized for his mistakes. Some wouldn’t.
I mean its not like he knew the pier was going to collapse, that’s a structural issue.
Right
Hindsight is always easier. The pier had never broken before.
Shoulda left him on the pier, the pier is still there so he was safe. Over reaction.
You wanted show them the power of nature. Not to mention you have no idea of the power of nature. The waves and wind are those tell you.
Totally Right On
He better have to pay the costs of the resue, and he should have to take classes on judgement, health and safety, and responsible parenting.
Everything that he did screams “stupidity”
I didn’t hear him apologizing
Was this man , charged for child indangerment ?
I wonder what the bill was for his rescue?
We all make mistakes at time. Lesson learned I'm sure.
