I don't agree with that. I'd say anime is generally a hell of a lot deeper than anything coming out in Western media. Yeah, there's cringe and fan service, yet the themes of heroism, standing up for what you believe in, working hard, facing adversity, never giving up, standing up to evil and more is very meaningful. You also get to see different philosophies battle it out. I'd say that very much inspires, and lord knows we need some inspiration over here, as the only people making any popular media here all look like the friends of the GF in this video.
