Turning The Tide: 'Conservas' has Amy PLAYING SOLO! | Board Game Preview

- Who would've guessed that it would be the THEME that convinced Amy to try a solo game! Conservas is all about balancing your commercial fishery business (preserving seafood in cans) with the sustainability of the ocean marine life. You will need to achieve both types of goals to pass the 12 scenarios included in the game - and it won't be easy (they call it a challenging solo bag building game and they were not kidding around!)
Note: This is a pre-production prototype copy of the game. We have not rated this game as the rules and components are subject to change.

Thanks for stopping by! We're Amy & Maggie aka ThinkerThemer. We're an Australian couple with two very different perspectives of what makes a great board game - Amy (Thinker) is all about the mechanics and enjoys tight, competitive games, and Maggie (Themer) is all about the storytelling and the theme of the game, and the 'world' that the designer is trying to create. Subscribe to our channel to hear us talk about these two elements of a game, and how well integrated we feel these are in delivering a cohesive and wonderful game experience.

Hi from Spain! I'm really happy that you like the illustraitions 😻😻😻 I follow you for a long time and I am a big fan of how you explain the game. It's super cool for me to see a game that I've illustrated in your channel 😸😸😸 Big hugs and a lot of Conservas
Awwww YAY thank you so much for watching (this video and before!) We adore your illustrative work here, it really brings the game to life and makes it feel so thematic. Thank you for bringing joy to our table! ❤️
Thank you very much for answering. I saw you last year in Essen but I didn't dare to ask you for a selfie, but this year if I see you again I'm sure I will. 😻@@ThinkerThemer
This is one of my most anticipated games for this year. Thank you so much for the preview video!
Ours too! ❤️ Thanks for commenting here! X
Hello, coming from ‘Murca. I love your channel! You guys are very wise, and very reliable. Oh my word, this solo game looks really fun! Hello new game, hello credit card debt! 😊
Aww thanks so much for the kind words about the channel!! I hope we help you work out which games are not for you too to balance out the CC use 😅
LOVE the look of this. Great video, and hope yall are doing well!
Amazing coverage. Sounds like a solo game right up my alley!! I hadn’t heard of this before
Happy that you liked this vid! Thank you! 🐟
Salt & Peppers have yet to miss. Beautiful!
We agree! 👀
Thank you for this review. I think I would love this game. I will have to take a look of some digital implementation of it, it it ever comes out in digital.
Glad it was helpful James! Thanks for watching as always 😊
I had absolutely no interest in Conservas until I saw your review and that's because you did an excellent overview of the game (and I appreciate all the B roll too). The "pulling five token out of a bag and allocating them" reminds me of a game called Warp's Edge. which I own and enjoy. I like the theme and the artwork too. (Oh, just realized...Scott Almes also is the designer of Warp's Edge!) In any case, I am now following the campaign. Looks like it's launching on Feb. 7. Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much James! 🙏 Maggie puts a lot of time into B roll so it's really nice to get this feedback. Appreciate you! ✨️
So I like solo games like Friday and Maquis, so I will give this a try. Thanks for introducing.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! 🙏😊
Whimsical game. Thanks for the upbeat video 😊 Conservas 😊...bag drafting is more fun than card shuffling 😊 reminds me of Deep Dive 🐧🐟,🌀🎣 Namiji, Atiwa 🦇🍑 🤗
Well done on the sign off, Maggie!
🤣 we should've left the other takes in....
Not a fan of canned fish, but the theme is really charming! And I like the mechanics as well. Definitely one to look out for.
And really hard too!!! I think you'd enjoy the challenge! Thanks Richard for commenting over here! ❤️
wonderful review. I am breaking my "no kickstarters" rule for this game. cannot go wrong with any of Salt & Peppers new games. my only reservation is should I wait for 25th century to repackage to match my other S&P ported games.
Thank you for the lovely feedback & glad the video was helpful! S&P are on a roll! ✨️
I love solo games, and this game looks great! I loved Salt & Pepper's Witchcraft, and enjoy playing Scott Almes Games from Button Shy's Simply Solo range.
I still play Final Girl because of the theme (but mostly with my partner, discussing our options together). Solo!ish
I haven't tried overseeing Maggie on this one! I'll have to watch her next time... no doubt offering unsolicited back-seat driver suggestions LOL
You had me at bag building 😍😍😍
Solo only games are very interesting for me. I think i should buy it. Thank you for your great video. 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🌊
Great overview. I especially appreciate the caveat of unlikely replay. Love the theme. Love the packaging. 🥫Love canned fish beyond reason.🐟 Attention span of a squirrel.😉 So, this one is just not for me.
Lollll I feel that! When I play solo (Amy here) there's no one to tell me it's my turn and keep track of the rounds so I always forget what I'm up to! Look forward to being distracted together soon
Actually Atiwa replay is also low for me...I just picked the bat-conservation strategy and not interested in other ($, human community) paths anyway 😅
More canned food... but I do like the theme!
It's cute isn't it!!! Love these themes that are so creative 😍
