Hi NIck!! I’m Rafael .I sent you emails, I bought you the plans and I am watching your videos for 3 times before starting the project. thank you for everything
I love your work, your sure are a very clever and skillful creator of beautiful pieces of art work. I have been wanting to build you guillemot for years now, your videos are pure motivation, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience....
Hi Nick. I am about to get to to the chine building a Guillemot. As you know, it is not quite as hard a chine as the boat in this video. Is it still worth performing this step with a softer chine or can I continue to strip around it? Using a robobevel and 3/4 inch by 1/4 inch strips.
Hi Nick, I just love your videos, they are great learning tools for any kayak builder. How about a few words about the MicroBootlegger, I built your Guillemot play, hoping it would be a great surfing kayak, then you brought out the Petrel, I built that too and loved it, but then you brought out the Petrel Play and so I built that too and now its my favourite, so whats the plan, will I have to build a new kayak soon?
The microBootlegger has a lot in common with the Petrels. The underwater shape is very similar, with a waterline length similar to the Petrel, but a bit wider. Obviously, the above water shape is different with more volume. Due to the increased volume, it is more responsive to leaning because a lean will lift more of the ends out of the water as the increased volume buoys up the middle. I'm really excited by this design. I have not spent as much time in it as I would like because I have made all so far for customers and I wasn't going to bang up a customer boat before delivery. As the weather warms up, I hope to get the Skin-on-frame version out more, but that will perform a bit different due to its construction.
Can you tell me what video goes into detail about the robo-bevel. I remember one video in which you use it (I haven't watched them all). I also remember older videos in which you're using a pocket knife and a finger plane to cut and bevel the strips. Does the robo-bevel just bevel the top of the strip by following the forms?
dang man.. no more starting with silence.. i turned my headphone volume all the way up cause I didn't hear anything and then BAM the guitar was at 11.. almost made me pee myself.

The chine mitre makes so much sense now with that lengthy description. Very helpful!
I love that accent stripe at the waterline. I'm watching these in series. Great job. The grain pattern is beautiful.
You are pumping out a lot of good content lately. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

You should not need to trim back the chine. You may find it helpful to use a narrow strip or two, but that might not be required either.
Nick Schade Super thanks so much!! I appreciate all your knowledge on the subject. The robobevel is a great tool BTW
Man, you are a genius!!!! Thank you very much for so much content!!!
