It has been reported that the British government is considering making an apology for the events. We didn't ask for that apology because we would be here to doomsday to hear all apologies! Few years later Britain pulled out of Ireland and remained in the 6 counties of the North of Ireland. And yes we still fought to be free.

The day began with the assassination of 14 British agents (known as the Cairo gang) or their informants by the Irish Republican Army. Later that afternoon, British forces opened fire (with tank mounted machine gun) on the crowd at a Gaelic football match in Croke Park in north Dublin, causing the deaths of 14 civilians.

Catholics at that time were second class citzens in an oppresive british loyalist state policed and ran by them. Today we share power. Some say we are on the one road- Big Ian said NEVER NEVER! Iam thankfull for the peace.. but feel our community has lost its identity and collectiveness that we use to share. I am sure the Loyalist feel the same? Maybe that's called moving on!

The civil rights march of 1972 was merely that -One man one vote. But a day of reckoning as the Britsh shot dead 13 civilians in our second Bloody sunday 1972. Men and boys lined up to join the IRA that night with guns that were supplied by the Irish goverment! Yes that's right! The Irish Goverment were on the verge of entering the North of Ireland to protect the Irish Catholics instead opted to stay at the borders to help those injured.
