Because longboarders are are like the special needs people at gym class. Everyone feels sorry for them. Let them be but they never incude them to the partys
Ok I have one request: maybe a vid about how one (as a beginner) can get through the neighborhood (cars on the road, stop signs, and slight downhill uphill) to get to the practice location? Because I live on a calm street but it feels like shark waters.
Started longboarding this year, and it's scary at first, but do it at calm streets till you get confident and always use protection! Avoid busy streets. Explore your city, find spots, take some friends with you. Have fun :)
Honestly I got the hang of it quickly try stuff that scares you a bit, if your scared board beside grass and try what your trying speed isn't always key but usually is haha and just relax and breathe
I only fell once with longboarding. I was walking with my dog , and I was on my longboard, when he started to pull really hard, because he saw another dog. I jumped off my longboard so I wouldn't fall. When I wanted to continue, I stumbled over my longboard when I was pushing off, and I landed full on my face. It probably looked really weird for the person with the other dog😂
I just got started longboarding 2 days ago after I got a used bored by my neighbor. The board was beautiful and in great condition. I have made amazing progress from not being able to stand on the bored for more than 5 seconds, to cruising through parks and other scenes with no issues. I use your videos to help me! Thank you!
I got mine 2 days ago (with prior experience) I can now go down the second biggest hill in my tinny town pretty fast😄 I love it so much and plan on getting a free style long board soon I already got a drop through board that has made going down big hills a lot of fun
I'm learning but I enjoyed watching and laughed how you advertise axe spray. Instant subscribe. I used to ride my mini cruiser like a newbie in my home country and I think I will go back to longboarding. Thanks!
I love how this is a great community for longboarders, this one helped me more than your other great videos. I have a plastic longboard and they are quite heavy and bulky so I trip up a lot but because of your videos I feel comfortable now about skating in public alone. I'm also saving up for a proper longboard. Thanks Hans , btw I usually wear my best clothes while skating because they're black and the only clothes I like.. :))))
I'm still a noob in training and self taught. Never knew about the shoulder fall or fall in general so I didn't know there was a guy at the bottom with his dog and he had those extended leashes where the dog could go farther. I didn't want to hit the guy, nor the dog or the leash so I ran off, stumbled, caught myself, roll and hit my head. Everything was ringing bad then dog owner helped me up and took me back to the entrance of the park for someone to pick me up. My head is fine just needed staples. For some time I get scared to longboard a bit or going over a bump. From watching your videos helps me out and helps me get over my fear. Thank you!
I'm starting my journey as a longboarder (also my first time on anything alike) and your videos have helped me a lot in knowing my way around this new sport. Also, loved the fact your Belgian? one of my best friends is from Belgium so, I kinda enjoying that too. If I ever become a really good longboarder, be sure it will be mostly because of your tips, guidance and good style.. thanks!
when i first started longboarding i ended up getting in a pretty nasty fall after sliding off a water puddle. I landed right on my wrists and jammed them both while getting some deep scars on my palms in the process. falling correctly really helps in the long run.
As an adult I just go limp when I fall. I drop anything in my hands and unlock all my joints, make sure my face/head isn't going to hit first and just kind of go jelly. I broke my arm as a kid from falling wrong and almost seriously hurt myself as a teen falling on a trampoline so instead of tensing and trying to save myself I just go with it now. Falls still hurt but they do a lot less damage like this than panicking and tensing up. IDGAF how I look. I'm nearly 30 years old. Life's too damn short.
Awesome video as always, I'd really love to see a fakie bigspin tricktip somehow, your fakie bigspins are like out of this world, I got footage of myself landing this trick with 1 foot a lot of times, like 1 hour of footage but can't manage to land it yet. Maybe do yet another top 10 intermediate tricks video? Love your footage man, keep inspiring all of the 84k people who watch you :), you got the 100k soon bud!
Had my first bad fall yesterday. Tried to bomb a hill that was a bit out of my skill level. I bailed on the board and ran, but not fast enough, ate sand. Luckily, the hill had sand at the bottom, but I didn't make it all the way, caught the edge of the sidewalk. The hill turns near the bottom, bad for beginners, very. Not that much road rash. Lesson learned, NEED safety gear. I'm essentially a noob even though I skated for years, several years ago, ok more than a decade. I'm old.
I,m 46 and have been longboarding for 20 odd years. I commute to work on my board and love speed on mellow hills with long runnoffs. My board is over 4 feet and rides like my surf longboards. I can cross step on my surfboard tho it can be sketchy if the waves are bigger or not clean but now want to practice cross stepping on my skate longboard. I,m used to speed but but want to add that graceful cross step nose ride to my skating. Even after years of skating I can learn way more.
I’ve been long boarding for 8 years but I love these tips videos, they’re so helpful! Unfortunately I don’t know anyone else who boards so when I fail my friends just laugh at me lol
God damn it, I just found the perfect longboarding channel, informative, helpful and hilarious as fuck, still a 0 leveled noob, but just watching your vids make me wanna practice more and more.
I had my first bad crash last week, but was back on the board the very next day and on Monday I should receive my Bastl Walzer to properly get into dancing. Keep shredding, Hans. Hopefully I get to skate with you one day.
Whenever a handshake goes weird, I just something like "Whoah that was weird" or "What was that man" and look at the person like theyre weird or something... Then sometimes Ill give a manly firm hand shake to make up for it.... And if all else fails just apologize like "sorry im weird and tired today." As you can see... I got my stuff all worked out haha
Nice videos, I have a longboard on its way with an electric motor kit as well and I haven't ridden a skateboard in 15 years since i was 6 years old. Good tips for the general longboarder and not just for people who want to learn tricks on longboards
in my opinion a great crash revovery trick is a ghost kickflip, run up to the side of the board like you just did a ghost ride and kickflip it, pretty simple and my fav. trick to do.
Thanks ^^ I learned ghost ride/ ghost ride + kick flip/ tiger claw and the cross step and these 4 tricks aren't difficult and are so fun to do them. In the future I could learn more but for now these ones are just fine for me :D
Man i appreciate your videos, are chill, cool, smooth, and you look a good person, this is the right actitude. I just closed my first 180 after ona week buyin my longboard, i don have tome for practice, but my head is hard, so i'll keep going... Thanks for your info, are really cool!
Yooo thank you so damn much. Means a lot to me! Just read some comments that pissed me off but this one made me smile again haha. big hugs from Belgium!
Sponsored by Axe??? That’s surprising! :0 Thanks for this video Hans! I really needed all the silliness and tips! This video is probably my favourite out of the whole summer :)
There were way more longboarders in NYC where I started ..I used to just go to Central Park and link up with random riders around the circuit. Now I’m in Boston suburbia and it sucks lol
To me personally, just don't care about what people think when you fail... You know you are working hard to land a trick so when you fail get back up with a smile as if nothing ever went wrong, you got this.
Stay awesome boi. Im actually considering longboarding because of your videos Edit: boi this is so funny. Okay so the very next day I went out to find a longboard. I went to these different stores and all the had was drop-throughs and pintails. So I went to this skate shop that exclusively sold skate stuff. I went in and asked for a longboard and the guy asked me what kind of longboard. And I said a dancing longboard. And u know what he said!? "What's that?" my mind just went into buffer mode I'm like 'what...? U don't know it?' he said "no" HAHAHAHA HAHA LOLOL HE EVEN SEARCHED ON GOOGLE IN FRONT OF ME WTF
I cryyinggg hahahaha Cross steps save lines for sure ! And in de middle of the video im see the Chemical Engineer Hans af talks about energy conservation 😂 Big hugs from Brazil !
Hans Wouters hey Hans, love your videos man and the heart and enthusiasm you put behind them. Can you make a video focusing on tricks where you're backwards? Like the lookback, backstep, backwards Peter Pan and backwards footbrake for example. Just any backwards tricks you can teach us and tips on how to balance backwards as opposed to frontwards. That's something I'm working on now and I'm hoping you can provide some insight. Thanks a lot brother. Much love and respect from toronto, Canada.
I've actually just started to get into longboarding before I just skated on a regular board I've been trying to save up to buy one hopefully some girls in my neighborhood take influence off of me and start trying to skateboard or longboard like I do I'm trying to get more girls in the skating industry
woow this video made in a super cool way you improve all the time Hans i was pretty impressed of the effects you used everything was fitting so well also this video was so inspiring you always give me the chills after every video because im too hard on myself sometimes thank you so much for being such an awesome person big hugs from bulgaria u better visit us someday 😊
Oh thank you sooo much! Worked really hard on this one indeed haha... Super happy I could talk to you about it then cause I really believe in that, even tho I understand it's hard to fail. YES I'm meeting so many awesome Bulgarian people lately hahaha. Thank you so muchhhh big hugs from Belgium!
Thanks, there are some people who laught when I fall , like they think they know ALL about ALL that they do. (Sorry if I wrote something wrong I'm from the canary island and I'm 15)
This helps a lot, especially me as a longboarder who gets humiliated by toxic people around me just because i've failed. Thank you Hans!👌
Fuck them haha, big hugs!
@@LongboardsBE i heard this in your voice. Keep up the lord's work man.
longboard is scary and all but, handshakes... that shit wakes me up at night
this channel is so underrated
Love you guys so much haha don't know what to say

Tiny Rock just keep your head on a swivel. meaning look back all the time
Search for parking lots / park houses.

Learn how to put gloves down and kill speed. Like complete stop. That way you can always press pause
"don't put your hands down" "save your wrists" *is watching with a broken wrist from falling badly*
Learning longboard at 30... I am awkward af but do not mind if young boys laugh at me. Just have fun and enjoy summer :)
Starting at 38 here. Just sayin, man.. ;)
@@olgafrolova4382 Hell, im 40, skating since 25 years, longboard dancing since 3 years and i never loved skateboarding more. :)

Hahahahah hahaa omg 😂😂
Hahaha i love how he started throwing some mad physics on the shoulder roll part. Dude you should mix your engineering knowledge with longboarding
Hahaha would love to 😛 Show you the real Hans aka nerdy hassie
The motto for this video, say it with me, everybody:
"You gold"
I'm learning but I enjoyed watching and laughed how you advertise axe spray. Instant subscribe.

Great advice at the end.. totally agree 😆
Love this channel, keep it on!
What if your shoulder can come out of its socket easily? 😰
Just roll out to your back and don’t roll all the way over. It will still take the impact of the fall in a way that injures you the least
As someone who has fractured an arm falling on his wrist, tip 8 is a big yes.
I would love to see you teach the guys over at Braille Skateboarding how to do some longboard tricks :-)
Hahaha that'd be so crazy 😂
'You're gold!"
I have fun watching this and also amaze cause all of em are all true:)
Haha whohooo ♥️
i did the slap and the fist bump and the other dude proceeded to choke me out. little did i know that was also the handshake for rolling in BJJ.
Haha 😂
