- This is a tribute to longtime WFSB News anchor Denise D’Ascenzo.
Denise suddenly and tragically passed away on December 8th, 2019 at the age of 61. D’Ascenzo also worked for 3 years at WJW Fox 8 in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1980's. My condolences go out to Denise's family, friends, and her extended TV families at WJW and WFSB.
Rest in Peace Denise, and God Bless You!
God know best, but she has been taken from us too early, and her presence will be missed for years to come because she has left a lasting impression on me with her grace, class, dignity and social deportment ... qualities you don't too often see in our day and age.

How did she die and was she still working at WFSB till her passing today?
Suffered a massive heart attack, died at age of 61. Was still working at WFSB.
@Val Venus Hartford Courant reported her family as saying they believed it to be a heart attack.
She’s one of the best in Connecticut tv news.

In honor of Denise, WFSB's present location in the town of Rocky Hill has been dubbed 3 Denise D’Ascenzo Way. For many years she worked at 3 Constitution Plaza in downtown Hartford.
