I am Indian. I have followed your majority of the videos with worksheet. Amy is a natural tutor. Your way of teaching is simple and lucid. Thanks Amy. All the Best.:)
This was really cool. I especially liked how you would pause and then say 'good' because it was like you were pleased with what your audience was doing even though you had no idea what they were doing because you filmed this ages ago.
Amy has much grace and a natural talent as an instructor. Excellent videos! Thank you so much for making it available to all of us. I wish you the best.
I love this video. So important to every actor. I watched it just before my audition tonight and my head space transformed from self doubt to confident. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much for the thought and work you put into this video series. Your interaction with the viewer without actually having us there is very much spot on.
True story about "dressing" American. Years ago I visited a Parisian flea market off the beaten tourist track with a European friend. The vendors were calling out "American girl, American girl!"...out of a throng of people. I asked my friend how they could spot me and she inventoried me head to toe: hair "done", full face of makeup, brightly colored clothes, purse not backpack, on and on she went. So much wisdom in Amy's videos! Best wishes for your career Amy....you're very bright!
I liked watching these videos, even tho it's already my natural accent. There are interesting things about our own accents that we don't realize until someone points them out.
You are incredibly talented Amy. I love learning languages, I speak Italian, French, English and Spanish. I'm from Ecuador and I'm trying to improve my American accent, your videos have helped me so far, so thank very much :) I'm a language freak, so to speak, I can find myself identified with you, in the sense that we both share this passion. Regards!
gosh YOU are SO talented. Seriously though wouldn't be awesome if there was like a 5 min motivational video of amy just saying stuff like "I believe in you " and " you can do anything" lol
Good lord; even though you are not actually playing a character ( other than yourself that is ); you are still darn entertaining! Sooo very watchable Amy; just so very watchable.
wow, i'm a new yorker but this is still interesting. i never really thought about how we move and talk and the details. It's useful for me as i now can think about how i can decide to present myself by observing myself with this brilliant tutorial and tips. i would really appreciate if you can create a tutorial for "standard english accent" and/or "standard irish accent." That'll be brilliant! Thanks for all your wonderful videos, advice, and energy! :)
Hey Amy, just wanted to let you know, you are one of the most beautiful and glowing women I have ever seen, with an electrifying attitude and smile, thank you for the lessons and positivity, keep up the good work :D !!!
Amy, thank you so much for making these lessons free (I've just watched them all just now). Now I can say I LEARNED. I found the worksheets really helpful. By the way, I'm asian (Filipino) and we usually have a hard tongue so we sound funny to americans. I never met anyone teaching american accent as simple, as fun, and as clear! I really enjoyed the warm up, too! I just can't express my gratitude enough. I wonder why they don't teach us this way in school? More powers to you, Amy!
Hi, Amy! I'm a Filipina and I watch your video and learn from it. It does help me. than you very much and looking forward to be speaking the way you do. God bless. Erma

I have a huge passion for States and one day I'll live there and am act like real american. I love the fact that even all american people doesn't have perfect accent and that we foreignwr don't have to be sad about our ways of speaking english. I adore all americans and their fantastic country, can't get enough until I live there permanently!!
They live in TV and movie studios mostly. It's sort of the default 'public speaking' dialect. Every region, or even different cultural groups and social classes within the regions will have things that break some of these various rules on these videos. However, they can be very helpful for actors or for people who are trying to be more easily understood in America, or are having trouble understanding others.
AHHH Amy your laugh is ADORABLE!!!!! And you're a genuinely wonderful human being. I'm from Victoria BC in Canada and your accent sounds almost identical to the way people speak here. You must be from one of the Pacific Northwest States...
i just wanna thank ms. amy for this video..it helps me motivate myself more beacause actually im looking for a new job right now here in manila...coz i came from province and im not yet fluent in speaking english but im working on it..thanks a lot for this 5 peace video...i’ve learned a lot.
Fabulous series! But in watching you I realized how important Gestures are to language meaning: head bobs, leaning one way or the other, hand movements, all that. Maybe a Part 6: Gestures?
@eaglesgogirl Posh is the one thag is used in mass media and in movies. That is how the standard English accent is represented. Sure, there are a whole lot of accents in Englad, but every country has it's "standard" version of its accent. Just like how anybody can spot an American accent irrespective of the state it came from.
Hi Amy, I'v just watched your video series of you. It's really wonderful and helful for me. And you, charming and funny laddy ;) . I'll practice everyday to get a perfect American accent as i used to hope. At the end, i'll say I LOVE YOU so much :x
It also kills me 😂😂 when I read other comments from foreigners (wishing to develop such an accent) who say “This is what I have to do to sound American? Screw it. I’d rather not.”
Does Even Amy read our comments,,,,,,,???? Any Way thank you Amy ,,,,,,,,,,,,, You make the watchers feel just like they are in Face time with you......... Thank you your video helped me a lot
Please teach the West London accent! It's probably the most noticeable English accent and it's also the most sexiest of all English accents. If you don't believe me, type in "Robbie Wadge Hermes Backstage" in the search engine and you shall see what I mean!

Believe in the me that believes in you!
any difference in saying, i foUnded or fUnded the organization??
Yes. You say the first syllable of the first word exactly like round. The second word starts exactly like fun.
And if you're talking about meaning, the first one means you started the organization. The second one means you gave money to it.
I feel like she's peering into my soul
It's probably deeper than that..
But it can help of course :)
