I got randomly suggested this video of my hometown and it's such a bittersweet yet heartwarming feeling to watch it whilst living elsewhere. It's pure beauty, I'm always incredibly proud whenever I mention I'm from Alghero. During the summer, it's magical - to anyone who might want to visit, I definitely recommend.
You've managed to convince me I need to go....one day when we can travel easily again. I had already added on many destinations in southern Italy to my ever growing list but this has expanded it again.

Hey, glad you enjoyed it. I also filmed a day walk of Aghero, a bike ride of the coast, and day and evening walk of Cagliari. I went to go film the ruins at Nora but the Green Pass had just gone into effect and I didn't have one so I couldn't get in....to the outdoor site. :)
Prowalk tours is my favorite RUclips channel by far. It's amazing with technology, for him to be able to share these places with us. When I'm at the gym on the bike, rowing machine or treadmill, I put my tablet on landscape and put on his videos. I don't even realize the time flies by because I'm hooked onto watching the videos as I complete my workouts.
I have lived in Alghero from 1986 till 1998. My parents and some very good school friends still live and work in this Catalan jewel, in august 2021 I was there walking among the streets of the old town. Thank you for this walking tour

O che sarebbe anche potuta divenire territorio francese. Un giorno magari le verrà in mente che la Sardegna è poco più che una colonia. Ma occorre studiare un po' di storia.

It's remarkable to me, that people don't realize the importance of what you are doing, as you walk past them holding up this camera. Because of this, people who will likely never, ever set foot on those streets can know EXACTLY what it feels like to be there, in that moment... I'm telling you, it's like magic and very important what you do, Keep it up!
I TOTALLY agree! I find myself watching a ton of these videos to get a sense of what it would be like to be there. Fortunately, I'll be traveling to Italy this fall, however, I wish now that this town was going to part of our itinerary. Looks like I'll be making a return trip!

Lol, I'm from Alghero and it's very strange for me to see my city from another point of view. We need to enhance this city, especially if tourists see it like a paradise
It is, in 1354 the sardinian and genoese population of the city was deported by the spanish rulers and substituted with catalan colonists, that's why they are a linguistic unique minority here in Sardinia

My late father is from Alghero and emigrated to South Africa many years ago. I still have direct blood cousins and family in Alghero. It saddens me that years ago, as a family we could have left South Africa and gone to live in Alghero. I'm tied up in business now in South Africa and wish I could leave this craphole of a country.
