Hi friend, thanks for watching! So sorry you’re having trouble. I am not really sure why - everything seems to be functioning on our end. Will you send us an email at kate@kate-hayes.com so we can help you get your freebie?
Yes, I tried several times to get the free downloads: Starter Guide and Bundle Ideas. Did not receive either one. Something is not working correctly. Love your training videos. Excellent!
Kate, hi, I love your videos. My understanding is that we can't sell the digital downloadable files that contain canva designs (regardless of whether altered or not). Is that your understanding too? That's what the canva support wrote me, anyway... thank you!!!
My understanding is that the design needs to be produced as a "product" to sell. So templates are a product as per what they stipulate in their policy so I guess it is a matter of WHAT your product is. If your product is just a digital design - that is just a jpg or png of the design you downloaded then no you would not be allowed to sell just that..but if you put that design WITH font or another picture ONTO or INTO something - eg a tshirt or an Instgram Post then yes you would be allowed to sell. You can't however just put that 1 design onto a product and sell (it has to have something else added onto it - eg font). Hope that makes sense!
When doing the story sized grid, you can also duplicate the size and then slide in a new image over it and it replaces the images much like a frame would work. It makes it a little easier than trying to line up the sizes manually. 😊
@@CristinAF you'll duplicate the element too BUT all you have to do is grab the next element over the duplicated element and it fits in it's place. Does that make sense? If you watched her first video showing how to make templates; she used the circle frame and dragged an image into it? It works exactly the same way. :)
Hi, I loved this video! Thank you so much, I do have a question. You said you can save it as a PNG or JPGfor an Etsy listing, you said either one. Is one better than the other? Does one do a better service than the other?
Either are fine usually for a graphic image. You can test them out on your listing to ensure the quality is clear but they should be basically the same
Hi there! my name is Dezerae and I have to say, I LOVE your step by step videos!!! They're so on point and helpful!!! Definitely do many more of these instructional videos.
Thank you so much Kate for this tutorial. I have been searching for this step by step. Appreciate you taking the time to do this and I look forward to more of your videos. :)
This was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I always learn so much from you…. Looking forward to watching all your videos as I’m just starting out on digital items.
Loving your easy to follow tutorials! I've noticed some stores offer a template option as well as the option to purchase finished product edited for you. for example, you can purchase and edit and print yourself of else I edit and ship finished cards to you. Do you know how an etsy listing is done for this option?
Is there a way to lock elements on your template that the client can't change? And make it so they can only change say colours or some words but not make the elements editable?
That’s so helpful , thanks!❤ Quick question, can I use my own original elements? Like a stock photo (not from Canva library) or something I created myself let’s say in Illustrator. Will the elements be usable for the people who purchase my template?
You can definitely use your own creations! You can also use images/assets you’ve purchased/licensed off of Canva but you just want to make sure to read the fine print of the license you got with it. If it says non-transferable then you’re not allowed to use in a template because it’s considered “transferred” to your customer then. You could use it in a final end product though (instead of a template) assuming you have the commercial license.
Should you use only Free elements and no pro elements so the costumer can us it or can they also use canva pro member elements even if they only have your link and only a free account?
If the customer has a free Canva account but tries to use a template with Pro elements, they would have to pay per element to remove the watermarks. It’s best to use free elements when selling templates.
Thanks for the tutorial, very helpful ❤ I'm currently using Canva to create my planner. However, I ran into a problem. In fact, I've done my planned design up to page 56, but when I try to duplicate a page, I get an error saying my design is too large. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to fix this and continue with my planner design. Thank you in advance ❣
Thank you for this video ! How do I link the page on to the link page ? It will not let me paste the link on the “Click Here “ word not sure what I am doing wrong
Unfortunately we currently don’t offer one on one coaching but do have a Etsy course you can learn about by watching our masterclass linked in the videos.
Great video thank you ! When I download for print, I use pdf print CMYK. But if an element in Canva itself is not 300dpi quality, the end result won't be 300 dpi, will it ? Is there anyway to ensure the elements I use on Canva are top image quality for print? Sometomes other sites like Fabrica mentions if an art is 300 dpi, but not always. I just want to make sure they print okay. Thanks again.

ff. can we use the canva free designs in combination with our own/purchased designs?

@@alexandratracey8252 definitely going to play around and try this! I didn’t realize elements acted as frames 😮 Thanks again for this info!!
@@CristinAF No problem! Good luck! It's such a time and frustration saver.

Yes you can do that! There should be a little lock icon to click!
@Kate Hayes oh so if you lock the elements, they will stay locked and can't be unlocked by the customer?
