- Friday night fun at the Ohio State Fair. This video focuses on the many mechanical monsters of the midway, and features one of my favorites, Moonraker, one of only 4 known to exist in the world (at least that's what someone told me!) Filmed Friday evening, July 25, 2014.
Love your short highlights in day and night; you really captured the flavor of the fair and brought back memories with those rides.

The NYS fair got all new rides for 2014 with Wade Shows! Sorta happy and disappointed because Space Roller and Top Spin won't be at the fair anymore.
The Moonraker looks great! That ride has been around for a while now. I remember back in 1988 when it was brand new and the Mighty Bluegrass Show owned it and it didn't look as good as it does today. Mainly the lights.
CoasterBob62 you out did yourself again great video. I was playing this spot in 2010 when I had an accident and ended up with broken bones. Any how keep up the great work. I really enjoy checking out your videos.

Would have been cool to hang out for a bit, but I knew you were kinda busy. You would have liked the heli ride this year - very smooth. And yeah, pretty much the same rides as last year.

Awesome video!! I love going to fairs. I live in New York though so we don't have big fairs like this except for the New York State Fair which is the only one I know about that has the most rides. I've been to the Oswego County Fair,The Lewis County Fair and the Jefferson County Fair.
The ride selection to me is not bad. I really really like 4 rides out of these. This is not to say that the Cliffhanger isn't bad, the Drop Ride, or the Scrambler isn't a good ride /etc but I think 4 of these rides are great. The 4 I think are great are the Tilt-A-Whirl, KMG Fireball, the Venture Cobra called Scorpion, and the Power Surge. And for me, coming from a different state, the Venture Cobra is really the only hard ride out of these to find in my state.

Man, I'd love to ride The Moonraker! Talk about a groovy 21st Century Trabant -- with the added bonus that it doesn't go backwards. (Hate to admit it, but at my advanced age I cannot stand to ride backwards at all; I have a hard enough backing my car down my long driveway. :-) )

Who do you think were the providers for this fair's rides? Looks like the major contributors were North American Midway Entertainment and Belle City Amusements...
+Marcus Dorsey Amusements Of America was the provider, and Belle City Amusements provided the Drop Zone and Power Surge
But the version of pharaohs fury they have now isn't there actually one. Amusements of America has a pharaohs fury ride that's in red white and blue. Along with their YoYo(trapeze). And the drop tower is actually AoAs.
I'm not very much into riding stuff, but I spotted two Gravitrons (one near the Wave Swinger and the other near the Fire Ball). And what happened to the Yo-Yo? Was it there or did you not catch it in your footage?
Yes, there are 2 Gravitrons, but no Yo-Yo this year. Yo-Yo is one of the only things I can ride without feeling sick.

It was replaced by a super tall one they did that to my fair too my fair is so boring unless its the zipper which I am going in this year also the ring of fire
During the evening and night, Twinkle Cart for Twinkle Park music from Sonic Adventure DX would fit very well.

The fireworks at the fair it's really really really really really really really cool and the zero gravity ride rocks like the zipper

I also noticed they had two "Kamikaze" type ride there but I think the one with one arm was the "Vertigo" model by Fabbri (I think) and the double arm one I know was made by Fabbri because I've been on Bonsai at the EX (CNE) in Toronto and it's the exact same thing except different colours. That's a nice collection of rides at the Ohio State Fair but slightly repetitive with the Gravitrons and the Kamikazes. What midway company supplied the rides? Thanks for uploading this video. :)
You're welcome! I think that the company is Amusements of America. There are also 2 Zero Gravity rides, but one didn't have lights, so I didn't get any close-ups of that one.
I think this midway company went to each manufacturer and said "I want two of this, and two of those"! ;) That's kind of odd how one Zero Gravity didn't have lights on at the time of filming. Maybe there was a problem with the wiring of the lights? Well, even the best of midways have some flaws. Thanks for the information! :)
CoasterBob62 Have you noticed that Amusements of America did not have the Yo-Yo this year, and they have not had the Zipper since 2009 why is that?

Wow, that fair looks better than the North Carolina State Fair n e day! But, we do have a Sky Diver thanks to Powers Great American Midways. =) A midway without a Sky Diver's like an ice cream cone without the ice cream in it. lol

Don't be talking about the NC State Fair like that. They have way more rides than the Ohio one. Plus, the midway sky eye seen at the FL state fair is coming to NC.
