    I met him in Bangkok shortly after he won Fighter of the Year. Really great guy. Drove me around in his (I think) Mazda truck and trained a bit. I still have a photo he gave me of himself! Haha

    His punching style is different from classical out-fighter western boxing, yet his mechanics are so tight and efficient. One of my all time favorite strikers - not just in Muay Thai but all striking arts.

    I’m summarizing what I learned from Bruce Lee’s literature growing up. He said the danger with hitting the bag too much is that you get used to a target that doesn’t hit bag. If you must hit the bag, you need to treat it like an opponent and hit it with caution.

    What are the bags filled with? Right now I am making due with a 100lb Everlast, which I assume is filled with fabric, but when I learned we used bags full of sand

    Training with all these guys, with all these different styles, how do you not get confused as in what to use?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  3 года назад +11

      It's like studying with different poets. You don't get confused because everything they do is for a purpose. You just choose what fits in with you. All the ways of doing things are tools.

    • @hesamalavi9
      @hesamalavi9 3 года назад +3

      @@8limbsUs What a beautiful explanation, thanks. Do you use logic or feelings to figure out what fits you?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  3 года назад +3

      @@hesamalavi9 Ah, you just pick the tool, just like you pick words to use. Sometimes you can think about them, sometimes you feel them. Usually, you just grab one, any one that you've practiced enough to feel comfortable in. There is no golden rule.
