Yes this vid is great . I worked in a packing shed at the very end of the line in the early 1970s . Back then there was nothing but paddocks after the sale yards .
There's an extra rail just on one side in some of the level crossings. A Wikipedia article implies a future upgrade may include adding standard gauge to the line. Are the extra rails a possible provision for future upgrades?
That was the intention as the inland rail was to run through Shepparton originally but the plans have changed and the inland rail is now via Albury. The rest of the Shepparton line is being upgraded with single gauge concrete sleepers now, so I doubt that standard gauge will ever be seen in Shepparton. 👍😊
Sometime next year. They need to finish the Waurn Ponds duplication and stabling facility first, then finish upgrading a whole lot of level crossings (unfortunately they aren't being removed) to allow VLocity trains to run at full speed.
@@driver667So that's why the audio sounded a bit different. Nice! Good idea for future vids too. Gives a different perspective both visually and audibly. I like it.

Nice video, That's the first time I've seen a Vlocity to Shep yards

Experimenting with a different position 👍😀

6:14 Why is there a Traffic Controller at that crossing? Off to the right.
There was some sort of work being done on that crossing 👍😊
@@driver667 Ah! That makes sense. I didn't think of Road Work. I though maybe the gates were broken. Thanks. 👍
I want the vlocity on my line any news on when it will come on Warrnambool
They are working toward it but I don't know exactly when it will happen. 👍😊

Who controls the signals and points there
The signals are controlled from Centrol in Melbourne as are the signals at Murchison East. 👍😊
How do u get back to the station once the train is parked
Taxi 👍😊
is the camera in a different position? It looks lower.
I think it’s outside the train near the bottom of the cab
Yes, I put it on the outside for this shot to see how it looks 👍😊

it looks good. I thought it was just because i've been watching too many loco vids ;))@@driver667
I may do a few more like this in the future but it works on this one because it is not going too fast. 👍😊
