thanks for a very good presentation of Pandeiro basics. when learning tricky rhythms, I have found it helpful to use graph paper to see where the beats fall and the off- beat occurs. Glenn Velez uses this idea and I credit him for de-mysttifying unfathomable elusive rhythms that quickly develop ear worms.
Thanks a lot! I don't seem to get notifications for your messages, so thanks for making contact :) thanks for asking about lessons. It's a super busy time at the moment but hopefully next year I'd be able to accommodate something. Drop me another email after new year to check in?
Hiya Holly, I think it has infiltrated my brain overnight! 🧠⚡🤣 Doing it on every work kettle-break, with occasional shouting! But I haven't dared move on to #4 yet (oh 'eck, nor #5!!)
Thanks so much for these lessons Holly and explaining things so clearly! Can I ask exactly what beat the first slap falls on in the main rhythm? I can hear it's after the 1 but is it slightly off the quaver beat? I feel like it's slightly ahead, is this right?
|. S . . | O . O . | O . S . | . O . O | S=slap O=open tone. Here written in 16th notes divided up into little sections of 4 to help read it. Make sense? :)
What a teacher! Ofsted would be amazed.

You're such a great teacher! Just emailed to see if you give private lessons online. Fingers crossed! :)

The off-beat start is my Achilles heel for sure :)
Yeah, hopefully this lesson coupled with the artist recommendations below will help :)
Where is a good place to get a pandeiro that you have. The one in lesson “1 with the warm sound? Thank you.

If you divide the 4 beats into quarter notes/16th notes, it's the second one :)
