He didn't belittle Iskandar even once in their fight, in fact if didn't promise to only have a single friend forever, it seems like he is actually willing to accept Iskandar as a friend.
I will take the "no fun" zone here Gil did see Siduri as someone important to him but announcing Enkidu as his one and only friend/equal for eternity is the one last thing he could have ever done for Enkidu's sake. Nasu said it himself: "'Gil ever called only one person a friend, and that is Enkidu." It's a very important vow to him, even if it ended up making Enkidu hates himself even more
You gotta admit Iskander is a badass for even suggesting this. If anyone else dared suggest this they'd be dead in an instant. Gil does not tolerate mongrels who think themselves as equal to him. Tsundere Zed and it is said to be that gilgamesh loved enkidu like a wife they often kiss and embrace so no wonder when enkidu was gone he was fucking broken to pieces
In the actual Epic of Gilgamesh (yes I've read it) Enkidu was adopted by Gilgamesh' mother into the royal household, and from then on the two we're referred to as "brothers."
"Unfortunately, there is only one friend that I've had and ever will have." *Followed by 15 minutes of Gil and Kirei holding hands, frolicking about and laughing at the charred corpses of everyone else.
In the epic of gilgamesh, enkidu doesn't have a gender but in fate, he takes on shamhat's form. But in the epic, he never took on her appearance and was described as hairy chested and broad. He is also identified with male pronouns by gilgamesh and b/c he didn't reject them, I'm guessing enkidu does identify as a male or he just didn't care. For those who said he is genderless, my closest guess is that he identifies as a male as i said from above. It was also said that enkidu and shamhat had sex for nearly a week nonstop. We know that shamhat is a woman and does not have a dick as far as i know, so the most logical thinking is that enkidu had a dick and that's how they had sex. Only in fate was enkidu seen as androgynous and genderless. We also know that fate has a habbit of screwing around with gender. Like with artoria, nero, musashi, raiko, ibaraki doji, okita, nobunaga, and many more to appeal more for the audience. It's fine if you want to believe enkidu is genderless and androgynous and want to keep using they and them for his pronouns. I'm not stopping you. Just remember that in the epic of gilgamesh, there is no connection to him being remotely feminine looking.
That wasn't the friend that he was talking about by the way. He was talking about his angel companion whom had stayed with him all of his life. 😊🌎✨ -Gilgamesh.
Greetings citizenz, and to amplify this it should be noted that in the orginal Epic of Gilgamesh there was also plenty of Homoerotic subtones. Hail to the Empire
The words that each of the three kings had said when they drank together. The golden King of Heroes said: “A king’s principles ought to be the laws that he himself laid down.” The red-haired King of Conquerors said: “A king is someone who conquers and overruns all riches and all reason, starting from his own body.” And the blue and silver King of Knights said: “A king should be someone who sacrifices himself to the path that leads to righteous ideals in order to grant his people salvation.” -Fate/Strange Fake light novel

Now now it's not Japan's fault for this trap, it's actually a trap thousands of years ago from the epic story of Gilgamesh
I swear gil had huge respect for iskander. From a fellow king to a conqueror.

I was honestly expecting to get John Cena'd but I guess this makes for a close second.

He migth not consider him a friend, but he does not considere him a fool either... that on itself, should be enough to rejoice for as the King of heroes aknowladges you.
不意打ちか
Fun fact : Enkido was actually sent by the goddes to kill gilgamesh, instead they both became friends and as the plan backfired (by the gods) they took enkidu and left gilgamesh brocken, (yea i read sht like this ok)
Tsundere Zed and it is said to be that gilgamesh loved enkidu like a wife they often kiss and embrace so no wonder when enkidu was gone he was fucking broken to pieces
Gilgamesh thought of Endiku as his Brother.
@@Beo8ey ???
The real story clearly states that Enkidu was a male lol, but in fate its genderless
^
Yeah freshman English taught us this shit get with it.
Wait I thought the point of making Enkidu was to give Gil a friend so he would stop raping and killing.
I came back here after the fifth episode of babylonia anime damn
So, we're all visiting this video again
Babylonia SIngularity Animation! 2019 *HERE WE COME!*
In the actual Epic of Gilgamesh (yes I've read it) Enkidu was adopted by Gilgamesh' mother into the royal household, and from then on the two we're referred to as "brothers."
Kamii Kaleidoscope Well imagine that. It’s basically Shirou and Illiya

Shirou and Ilya, but Ilya has a route.
Since when has that stopped anime fans from shipping?

"Unfortunately, there is only one friend that I've had and ever will have."
*Followed by 15 minutes of Gil and Kirei holding hands, frolicking about and laughing at the charred corpses of everyone else.
緊迫のシーンからエルキとギルのイチャイチャは草
Enkidu is genderless in fate and that is all that matters.
@@Janken_Pro i know and i don't mind. I even prefer the androgynous enkidu but i still want to put it out there.
In Fate, Enkidu is literally a sentient lump of clay with shapeshifting powers. He can be whatever biological sex he wants to be at any given time.
Next you'll tell me king Arthur was a guy!
@@r.k845 Shirou is a woman. He's stubborn, gets into petty rants about "correct" not being rights and he cleans the house

Oml, that actually made me smile 😍
I mean, I recall even in the original myth, Enkidu and Gilgamesh's relationship is somewhat homoerotic.
The words that each of the three kings had said when they drank together.
The golden King of Heroes said:
“A king’s principles ought to be the laws that he himself laid down.”
The red-haired King of Conquerors said:
“A king is someone who conquers and overruns all riches and all reason, starting from his
own body.”
And the blue and silver King of Knights said:
“A king should be someone who sacrifices himself to the path that leads to righteous ideals
in order to grant his people salvation.”
-Fate/Strange Fake light novel
I thought that was from Fate/Zero
そもそも、生前のこいつは征服になんか興味無かっただろうしな。

Hakuno would like a word with ya.
Meh, the Golden Tsundere refused to call you his friend even than. Even though it was blatantly obvious that he considers you one.
Maybe he has enough cognitive Dissonance to reason something like: "My main concubine (or Queen???) and my Only Friend are two different things." or something.
