Ive never tasted achacha or achachairu, but I have have a Garcenia humilis tree that has been in my Florida food forest for 3 years, so I'm still a few years from tasting the fruit. We rarely get frost, but my tree survived back-to-back 0°C nights last winter with no damage at all. It does fine with the summer rains we get here, and with heavy mulching, it doesn't need irrigation. Id say it is well suited to the sub-tropics, particularly as climate change pushes the growing zones north for us, and south for you. Thanks for the informative videos.
@@jakelooter5139 yeah I must have gotten mine about the time I wrote this comment originally and she hasn’t grown much. Hardly any in trunk diameter but she did put on some new leaves this spring :)

seen some 3 foot ones in a nursery here for 100 bucks. Thought about it but there are so many other things easier to fruit in South Florida its really for hard-core collectors imo
it literally doesnt matter. you could use any fertilizer. I am an expert biocultivator who has been growing/owned an Achachairu tree for around 7 years in a pot in the US indoor/outdoor season dependent. I often use higher iron additives since it is from the rainforest where iron content and trace minerals can be in higher concentration. therefore, used coffee grounds in addition to a macro and micro nutrient combo would be perfect, along w maybe iron tone or any iron sulfate additive...

According to the place I got mine, they will stay about 5-6ft in a container and be fine so I put it in my 24hr sun hydro system. Been there a month, doesn't seem bothered by the situation as apparently I was right to assume lots of water. So the question is, will it flower in a 24hr system or do I need a pphotoperiod change? It's fine outside for a lot of the year but it IS still zone 6a so it needs to be indoors at least some of the time. Just thought I'd branch out from tomatoes and grow something cool :)
that wont fruit for you in a grow tent, no time soon period, and honestly, 5-6 feet is a little bit of a lie. fast growing trees posts a LOT of lies the truth is you have a very long wait under ideal conditions. I am an expert biocultivator which means I am far better at growing life forms than more or less everyone else and I have had one for around 7 years indoor outdoor zone 7 no flowers yet...dont count your chickens before they roost or even know when they will roost homeboy

Omfg! I just tried my first Achacha. Fun to pop open and tasted like a tropical sorbet. Seriously one of the best fruits I have ever tasted. 🥰🥰🥰
Say that when your about to expire
Can they tolerate a bit cold? My winters are about 1-2 degrees C at lowest point and its not that often. Will the achcha be okay with this?
Go with lemondrop mangosteen (brasiliensense)
