Can't get enough videos of me eating garcinia fruits? That's pretty strange... But still I have a playlist just for you: ruclips.net/p/PLvGFkMrO1ZxJlZw8QHuz5nJ5ww7d-Hw0s
Vostok playing with the imbe was easily the cutest thing ever. Normally cats don't care much about fruit. Maybe she just loves you so much, she's developing an interest in your interests!
My kitty Emil went crazy as soon as he got a whiff of ripe cantaloupe. Many a time I found half a cantaloupe on the counter with a deep circular hole that he had rasped out with his tongue. My BOY!
Yay! New garcinia! I’ve been looking forward to hearing your take on this one since I have a couple of small trees but haven’t gotten any fruit yet and didn’t know what to expect! Glad to hear they’re as good as I had heard and hoped they were!
Way late in commenting but wanted to share that is a smart kitty because hot peppers got their originally in the wild to stop mammals from eating them since mammals teeth would destroy the seeds. The animal that propagated them best was birds because their digestive system didn't kill the seeds. So definitely smart kitty
Hey so remember my cactus fruit comment on a different video well i watched them and i loved them and yes the cacti i was talking about there were videos about :D
Funny you should do this video now, I got some imbe from Miami fruit a week ago, and when I looked it up on RUclips, there is not much on it. Was surprised to see you hadn’t reviewed it, glad to see it here now, lol. My favorite fruit is the purple mangosteen, since discovering it, I’m very motivated to try every garcinia I can. My take on this fruit that yes, it’s very tasty, but not really worth the effort. Did you taste a kind of nutty almost cacao flavor when scraping teeth on the seed? An interesting fruit, but again, not really worth the effort in my opinion.
You can quantify bitter, sweet, sour, but you can't quantify the complex terpenes in a fruit. That boils down to the flavor of a fruit being really indescribable, but you are doing a really good job of attempting it.
I eventually wanna try getting something from that website. Its probably the only way I'll ever see any of this stuff... We don't get a ton of exotic fruits in Wisconsin. We have awesome numbers as far as alcoholism and bar's per capita though!
mtgAzim You definitely have to check Asian markets to find some cool fruits. Sendiks, Festival, and Woodmans do actually carry some fun fruits. I found kiwano at Festival in NE Wisconsin about 6 years back!
Can these be cultivated here in the US? At least greenhouse-wise? Might breeding-or even, dare I suggest it, biotech (like CRISPR?) yield a fleshier fruit?
Yes! Depending on your location they can be grown in zones 10 and 11. You might be able to get away with 9b if you protect it from cold. I have a couple small ones that have survived two San Diego winters with no problems! They do grow painfully slow while small though.
The boss of your house approved this video. All my boss does(🐈) is wake me up at 5 am, whether it's a work day or not. He's gonna have an "accident " if he doesn't let me sleep in once in a while. lol.. kidding.. I love my pal.
What a pretty little fruit, it looks like a jelly sweet when it's peeled which makes me want to try it. That, and the flavour sounds so good, it's definitely on my "got to try this!" list =) Aww seriously Vostok is the best co-host ^-^
The imbe is interesting and I'd like to try it. But, to be honest, Vostok kind of steals the show in every video she appears in. Maybe you should make a channel just for her. You can tell, by these and past comments about Vostok, you have an audience ready to subscribe.
have you found Akee ? its cheesy and is eaten with saltfish in some countries native to west Africa all of it is poison except the flesh that is eaten so be careful also it must ripen on tree otherwise poisonous it sounds like a joy but still intriguing
NB: it would be more reasonable if you didn't speak of Africa as a country but a continent coz that fruit is not found in all parts of Africa and it's very offensive to Africans when you speak of Africa as if it's just one small country.... just saying. Please be sensitive....

@Simon Koeman weirdly goooooood
Vostok playing with the imbe was easily the cutest thing ever. Normally cats don't care much about fruit. Maybe she just loves you so much, she's developing an interest in your interests!
She likes to be involved. I should really have her do a scale of one to ten on how easy a fruit is to bat around,.
Some cats like fruit for the texture (though they can't taste sweet flavour). Blueberries are safe for cats, some like them as treats!
lq I have a cat who loves blueberries, and mangoes too.
My cat’s name is Blackberry and oddly enough, he eats Strawberries. 🍓
My kitty Emil went crazy as soon as he got a whiff of ripe cantaloupe. Many a time I found half a cantaloupe on the counter with a deep circular hole that he had rasped out with his tongue. My BOY!
Kitty 😻😻😻
P.S. Should be featured more.
Love the kitty interaction, we don't mind at all

you're in for a treat once yours start fruiting
one of the best videos in meow opinion
Your fur-baby is just soooooo cute!
i have been really unwell and watching your vids really helps me feel better : )
glad to hear it, feel better :)
This fruit is mostly in Western Africa called udara fruit or Agbalumo fruit in east and western Nigeria
I really appreciate that you are a cat person, I love cats, they are so entertaining 😆
Nice summer haircut! Thanks for the interesting video
Miss kitty missed you while you were away 🐈
The taste is similar to Ceriguela fruit.
Kitty participates in the fruit tasting🍑 but is no where to be found for the Hot Peppers 🌶...smart Kitty!🐈🤗

What a beautiful fruit! I bet that fruit has a great flavour!
wahhh i really wanna try some of these garcinias, every time i see you review one you make it sound so good! hope i can one day.
also, kitty alert 😻
they're so good! they should be everywhere!
I've had one or two and they really are delicious but only if eaten fresh. Don't substitute tinned ones because they're just bland.
Hey so remember my cactus fruit comment on a different video well i watched them and i loved them and yes the cacti i was talking about there were videos about :D
ah cool! Glad to hear I nabbed that one already ha
Have been curious about the Imbe. You have satisfied that curiosity. Thnx.
Glad to hear it! Its a good one.
You should've tried Maringa while in Africa. They sell it everywhere there.
coming soon :)
I eat a few cat hairs with every meal.
Makes you stronger

@@therealbodyyoga Almost cacao, you say? Could we ferment the seeds, then?
@@WeirdExplorer Toxoplasmosis does not make you stronger...
💩
Cat likes playing with small mangosteens. Probably would hiss at durian lol.
Would be interesting to see you trying Thaumatococcus daniellii fruit. Could be quite hard to come by though.
Your kitty is amazing!
So if it's Vostok's favorite fruit, can you say it's a meowvelous fruit?
You can quantify bitter, sweet, sour, but you can't quantify the complex terpenes in a fruit. That boils down to the flavor of a fruit being really indescribable, but you are doing a really good job of attempting it.
Cat sweetness: sweeter than an apple, bitter like a little jerk. 😂
Hi Jared have you tried , Saba senegalensis / Kaba fruit / Madd fruit from Westafrica?
I eventually wanna try getting something from that website. Its probably the only way I'll ever see any of this stuff... We don't get a ton of exotic fruits in Wisconsin.
We have awesome numbers as far as alcoholism and bar's per capita though!
I've performed in Wisconsin 3 times, each time was for a beer festival or promotional event for a beer company. :)
@@WeirdExplorer LOL Gee, how am I not at all surprised by that? ^_^
I’ll definitely order some, as soon as I win the lottery.

I bought these from Miami Fruit and am trying to start them in potting soil
@jen Thompson Can you please tell me where you bought your plants? I am going to be going close to San Diego soon
Persimmon-looking little thing.
Sounds delicious... minus the cat hair. :)
eh... I'm used to it at this point.

Thank you for the cute cat footage. :D
Its the real purpose of this channel
I greatly enjoy when the narrative of the video just stops for a moment bc cute cat
There's a Brazilian fruit called Mangaba - maybe you should try - totally different
the cat looks like so pleasant.
Currently eating some imbe myself. Refrigerating them seems to degrade the flavor, though, so watch out for that.
Good to know!
Since you are in africa try Abgualamo it's in the caimito or star apple genus
We were there in November, next time! :)
Never heard of that one! What does it taste like?
@@AlbinoAxolotl never tasted it that's why I was curious, they say it's close to purple caimito but with different overtones

she is a great helper. all morning she has been batting around an Imbe
Weird Explorer That's the cutest visual XD now I have even more of an excuse to try this fruit, they make good cat toys...haha
Can the seed be eaten? (hopefully yes, considering it's size realtive to the fruit)
I don't believe so
where in Africa is it from? I would rathr call it by that place name than after Livingstone.
Hey! I was wondering where you go for fruit in nyc?
He usually goes to ethnic markets. Asian ones have featured a lot. Also Eataly
Is the seed edible?
I don't believe so
Interesting that so many garcinias look so different from each other
Literally came here after seeing it on miamifruit just now 😂
Dang I was gonna buy some but I scrolled down and it was already sold out!
ah damn. Yeah they said it was on the way out, I think you can preorder it though
@@WeirdExplorer I will
Will you be trying iboga fruit in Africa? or rather did you?
Is the fruit edible? The root is what they use in rituals I think. I didn't see it where I was in Africa
What is your kitty's name?
vostok :)
Aaaawwwww love your kitty! 😻
You are a great catdaddy, dude!
She is such a cutie pie. I get acid reflux if I eat certain fruits. Is this the same way with you?
Kind of looks like a orange version of the Achacha on the inside

Came for garcinias, stayed for the cat.

ackee is coming up once I start posting Jamaica videos! it'll be a few months, but its going to be a big one
He made a video now. I saw many ackee trees in Costa Rica and weirdly prefer tinned ackee to fresh.
@@Sherirose1 I saw it & I'm excited to try it myself
I was thinking canned might be better too
It’s been 4 years
i like a sweet and sour in fruit its why i will get sweet oranges and consume the flesh and skin
Then Kumquats are totally for you, the skin is sweet and the inside juicy and super sour. Kumquats are easy to grow to.
@@easygrows2699 i think i might get some i about to start a week long fast its always good to have fruit after not eating for 7 days
