So I woke up today and thought damn results day is next week now I better do some research into clearing so i'm ahead of the game, I check yt as per and you uploaded this 3 hours ago, timing could not be better. Cheers!
This was so helpful! I’m just wondering how long it takes for your clearing number to appear after self releasing yourself from an unconditional offer?
Ive applied for st Georges and did my interview last week, im awaiting a reply right now. BUT ive always learn to hope for the best and prepare for the worst, so im looking at clearing now!
Hi! Thank you :) So they will be exactly like the normal interviews they have and they'll put a system in place. So I'm assuming it will be a video call where they will ask you you to take a picture of your surroundings to know that you're not cheating and they'll probably have their own system to do so - I doubt it will be on zoom. If it's panel then it will probably be you and three interviewers in one video. If it's MMI they might send an email and link all of the stations and you'll have to join each station accordingly. Honestly though, we don't know how it will work, but the unis will definitely make it fair and as easy as possible. I would say, just prepare for the interview like you normally do and hope your wifi is okay. If your wifi stops working they'll probably let you do stations again just like if issues come up in real life - maybe have a hotspot set up nearby? Hopefully this addresses your question :) Best of luck!
@@ohmyghoshdoc5994 omg thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed response 🙏🏼 I will take up your advice 😊 will this all happen on results day or will they allocate a time and day for me for the near future? Sorry for asking too many questions! 💙
@@pinkiedash4238 yeah, of course, no worries! So with St George's they let me have preference, so as far as I can remember, they offered me to have interviews on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday that week. Other unis gave a date in the future.
Same, I've rejected my biomed offer so I'm just gonna wait for results day and apply through clearing. If I don't get in through clearing then I'm taking a gap year. The reason I didn't get in was because of my ucat
@@haramritsinghbains6571 I actually got an interview for Keele, but then my teams was messing up so I had to do the interview during the break and it made me soooooo nervous so it was expected. But I'm actually glad I haven't got in because I didn't get to apply to unis I wanted to apply to.
@@haramritsinghbains6571 yeah I got an offer for biomed but I'm gonna reject it and just reapply for medicine if my ucat is high. If my ucat is lower or about the same it is now then im just gonna apply for pharmacy or something
Hey hun when you want to go through Medicine clearing, which UCAT do you use, the one taken for that years cycle for prople that were accepted or can you sit UCAT in the summer of the clearing? Also would you need both UCAT from the previous cycle and the clearing to apply Because I will go through clearing but can I do my UCAT in the summer of clearing??? Please reply . Urgent
You use your result from the year you apply usually. So if you apply to the 2020/2021 cycle, you'd use your 2020 ucat. If you enter 2021 clearing you use your 2020 ucat. Whether unis allow a 2021 ucat score is dependent on the uni and changes every year. :)
Do you also send your personal statement when applying through Clearing? My current personal statement is for a completely different course and if that statement goes when I apply to Medicine then it won’t make sense :/
They do get access to your ps either via ucas or they will directly ask you to email. I think with your case it's worth emailing the medical schools that frequently go into clearing and seeing whether they ask you to send a separate ps.
This is very dependent on the university and details will be on their websites regarding timings. The medical school clearing process is quite different from the ucas clearing process so all the info will be on their websites. In my experience it took up to 2 hours to get through, it's really frustrating but there's nothing you can do about it
Think this depends on the uni, they might give you a conditional offer and ask you to do the ucat, or you could do the ucat this year and go into clearing the same year. This is all dependent on the uni, and you should contact them for the answer 😊
Clearing is super stressful and this vid will be so useful to so many people, loved it 💖

I thought they don’t do clearing for med anymore?
Do I have to do clearning or can I just ring up UCL and ask them if they can have a look at my architecture portfolio?

Do you need to cancel your insurance choice in order to get through clearing

Hey do you think dental schools would be able to go through clearing as well or not?
Not 100% sure about this one - they might do, you may be able to find information on the student room

Glad you think so!
How did you know which unis were in clearing and which weren’t? Were they listed on UCAS so was it just by chance?
Can you apply after october 15th deadline if you didnt get as grades
How long does it take through to get through the telephone line ? Any tips you can give ? What time does the telephone line open ?

@@ohmyghoshdoc5994 ok thank you , Do you advise taking a Gap year and reapplying is worth It?
If you are committed to do doing medicine then it is absolutely worth it!
What if the ucat is really low?
so if your UCAT score isn’t very good, do you still have a chance
I'm not sure - its dependent on the cohort to be honest. A high bmat score definitely does give an advantage over a low one
Can you go through clearing, if you didn’t apply that year but did your UCAT ?
Yes absolutely!
So did you ever do the bmat
hey, could you still apply through clearing if you haven’t done the bmat/ucat?
I think you can! But they'll probably ask you to do it as a condition. You're going to have to call up unis and ask because I'm not sure!
