@@Gaming-inthezone I personally think that it is good starting with a warm shower and then go to cold water. Mentally prepare yourself and then start to focus on the breath in the cold water. Yes but if you think about it, it truly IS a workout--a mental workout. At least for me it is, because when I get in it takes ALL my concentration. I cannot think about anything else but slowing and controlling my breathing, turning to expose all of the skin. I can't think about everything I have to get done, everything I haven't gotten done, my bills, my child's or my husband's problems, my elderly parents, nothing. It's just me and my will to remain in that cold water breathing and turning.

60 seconds should get you most of the physiological benefits. But the building resilience. It get s stronger the more time you are in, the the more you push yourself to do exactly what you don’t want to do. Stay longer. Let your skin get blood red like happens if you are in the north east US at least. I won’t get out until it’s not cold at all and the cold doesn’t affect my breathing anymore. I now am up to taking ad long of shower as ky water bill will let me, usually 6-7 minutes and take cold to ice baths every day I can feel like my wife won’t be annoyed with the water bill lol. My favorite I’ve added running our cold water baths and adding just enough ice that there will be a little left when I’m done. And I’m taking a 12 minute bath. @@enlightenedwriter a person who has good level of self-control is a chad. A person who acts on impulses is a threat to society and their existence must be eliminated if necessary. Self-improvement communities have created this stereotype that if you have six packs, you disrespect women, you are a playboy then you are chad. It's deviating from the original purpose of the movement, and these youtubers are spreading conservative propaganda, some are spreading islamic propaganda. So it's obvious that they will see women in a low position and try to show dominance.

I've been having cold showers for a year and a half now - I've gotten to the point where I take as long as I did with hot showers - they are amazing after the first minute of pain - then it's all downhill - such is the key to life - take the first minute of pain willingly - and then it's all downhill

I do weightless squats and 45 lb. dumbbell flat bench presses for fitness. I enjoyed training my mind(and I guess my jaw muscles lol like when eating)for 47 seconds today! I celebrated the day after my 47th birthday by having my face in a bowl of cold water for that long! My thermometer said it was 58 degrees Fahrenheit! Obviously breathing would've been bad so I was holding my bref! Next week I'll add 3 or 6 ice cubes before the 47 seconds! Every week after that I'll keep adding ice cubes until the temperature is... what do you think is good?.... 35-ish Fahrenheit?! :P

The coldest shower i ever had without adding ice to my bath was in the mountains of switzerland in zermatt. The everlasting ice up there and the always cold pipes brought a cold shower to a whole different level.
It was like needles coming out the shower..i loved to start my day like that. Now i am based in the philippines. Now the coldest shower is just luke warm.

Here in Colorado it's easy in the summertime because it's hot outside and the water isn't very cold - but in the winter it can be freezing outside and the water is a lot colder. I'm at a place where even in the dead of winter on a freezing cold day, I look forward to my cold shower and I'm thankful for the "ideal conditions" on those days.

I’m turning 16 in about 2.5 weeks. My first time ever doing a ice bath will be that day. I’ve been taking cold showers since 2 days ago, and tomorrow I’m going to take a cold bath of about 67 degrees F. Because I don’t want to shock the body, I will do a breathing session before, and I will jump right in the bath tub. Then the next day I’ll do 64 degrees then 60 degrees then 57,55,then I’ll do 53 degrees F till my birthday, and on my birthday ima make the water 50 degrees F and be in there for 16 minutes. And I actually think I’m going to start doing cold showers everyday because I actually like it a lot better than warm showers as it makes me feel tired and just makes me want to sleep and be lazy
