I got the white interior and never had a problem with it. Use mild diluted soap (Dawn) to clean with microfiber towel. Everyone is immediately drawn to the interior. I wear jeans occasionally, and never had any transfer of color to the seats. Good review and tips in your video.

Most honest review I’ve ever seen. I ordered a Model Y Red exterior with White interior. I am kind of scare after I saw one in person and was thinking changing to black. I like taking care of my cars, if the quality is good, I will keep it the way it is. Thanks a lot for the useful information provided.
I have the light biege seat model S, really impressed with how clean you can keep them. However I'm sure they have a protective coating applied, I got very little blue transfer up to 36000 miles, but then it increased a lot. All my cleaning eventually removed the coating from the side of seat(where you slide in and out). The fix was to reapply a new coating. Best car seats I've had.
Are your Model S seats real leather or this "vegan leather"?
Using a sealer is a must.... I used CarPro Leather and stains are a thing of the past!

Hey bro. I like your video style. Let me start by saying I have these seats in both the 3 and the X. And I have a 7 and 4 year old in them daily. There’s a huge difference between wiping up spills vs dyes that transfer due to heavy friction rubbing constantly over hours of sitting/driving. I agree that removing dye transfer takes much more effort. However I haven’t experienced significant of it because I rarely wear blue jeans. I like the fact that the white makes it super easy to see dirt and what not for quick pickup. I don’t like the idea of hidden dirt. I like cleanliness. So it depends on the person. I will say that if you spill just about anything on these seats and quickly wipe it up with a wet wipe or even clean tissue you’ll be fine. They’re very good at not absorbing liquid chemicals of all types.
Yes, it's a very zen interior, that's also why I like it: it isn't too cluttered with stuff on the dash, and it feels open and bright with those colors and the panoramic roof!
It isn't perfect but it's closer to my personal preferences, but people living in cold and snowy places will probably avoid it like the plague.
It's probably also a good idea to get some white seat cover for the driver's seat for use on most days of the week.
Dash is aluminum, My seats showed wear and staining in the first month from the Tesla service center. (wear marks in the left divers side bolster). Basically wrinkles with color transfer. I cleaned them with some diluted leather cleaner but have used diluted APC too (soapy water was not cutting it). I put a ceramic coating on them and it seems to have prevented color transfer. The color transfer becomes more apparent over time so I highly recommend a coating for them! Makes them easier to clean too. I'm using gyeon leather shield, wipe it on and let it dry. Super easy, but takes a while.
Love the white interior! Seats never get hot!
BTW I'll be at a year next month and people are amazed how well they are holding up. 16k miles so far.
I have the glare on the dash. You may not notice it until you tint the windows. But it's bad, makes the mirror almost unusable. happens when the dash is in full sunlight. Hoping to wrap mine this weekend.
IF I get white I'd definitely get ceramic coating Day 1. But my 2nd favorite is tan interior. (Red exterior) . Not very popular choice for the seats but my preference.
Some people have had their seats ceramic-coated which I guess really helps to maintain their cleanliness.

I also have the white interior and love it. I have experienced some dye transfer from my black Tesla jacket that never came off on the piping. It's better, but still there if you look closely. Since then I decided to have the whole car ceramic coated inside and out and I can't speak to it yet as it's only been a week, but will update on my channel how it's going as I'm coming up on one year of ownership.

@@investornabil8825 I've owned my car now for two years. I've been pretty vigilant about wiping down my white seat at least once every two weeks with cleaning wipes. That has kept them in near new (bright white) condition. I would order white seats again depending on what vehicle I purchased. My next Tesla will be the CyberTruck, so will order it with black interior.
Too bad they can’t software update me some ventilated seats :)
For the right price, I'll fly over there and walk on them with golf shoes for you :)

To be clear: His version has a leather steering wheel, current version does not.
the cloth is because the seat meets the mount there so thats a high wear area. cloth holds up much better

My experience with black interiors in my cars is that dust is always an issue. I had a car with light beige seats. They showed more wear and tear than black seats. 6 of one, half dozen of another tho. Anyone who takes care of their cars, whether they have light or dark interiors, won't have an issue either way as they'll be on top of all that.
I have the white seats and interior after 8 months in my Model3 performance... I love them !
They totally brighten up the interior are very comfortable and look very cool.
So far they have held up. With that being said blue jean transfer is real for all white interiors. So beware.
I guess I’ll just have to wear khaki from now on once I get mine this year!
@@justinfain1752 over 2 years now since I got mine and didn’t stop wearing jeans. Occasional baby wipe to the white seats seems to take care of everything. So far happy with how they have held up.

About to make a deal on a 2022 Model 3 RWD has the white interior love the look of it....they offered to replace the drivers side bolster (where you had striations) I don’t think they can just replace that part looks to be all stitched together....seems your fix works!

Buahahaha great video. Wish I had seen this before I ordered. My only worry is something like coffee being spilled, not on the smooth surface but rather the stitching. Have yet to see a video of anyone purposely spilling onto the stitching. Thoughts?
As someone with both a beige leatherette interior Jetta and black leatherette interior Jetta, I can tell you the beige interior always feels noticeably cooler than black. Also doesn’t burn my skin when wearing shorts like the black interior does.

I have the white interior (owned my M3 for 6 months now). I wear blue jeans exclusively and have no issues with staining whatsoever (I dunno if staining is brand-specific, though, because I only wear one brand). The seats are really easy to keep clean, but in 6 months I've only cleaned them once so far.
The most stain-prone thing in the car is the piano lacquer center console which attracts fingerprints like nobody's business (wrapped it in white - so now that issue is gone)

I love the black interior, however, I just hate that would dashboard looking thing. That's why I would pick the light over the block is solely based on the dashboard appearance.
I also wish there were more dash material options.

I would have got white if it was available when I configured my LRM3. Was a day one order holder. I’ve had for almost 14 months and just over 10k miles the black seats look brand new

My back seat has an area that won't come out between the shoulder blades. I'm not sure what the passenger had on him but out is a great color that nothing has removed no matter how hard I wipe out what soap/cleaner I use. Everything else comes out.

I was born and raised in korea and had to learn english when i moved to the states at 9 years old. My advice to you is try not to speak korean at all if you dont have to, switch to english to master it. Before you know it you’ll know two languages:)
Biggest thing about these seats (and any seats really) is to not use alcohol based cleaners, that’ll help them slowly dry out and crack prematurely.
Yes, this is true. I would stay away from alcohol-based and also abrasive cleaners. A lot of people love using those magic eraser wipes, but those are surprisingly very abrasive and can cause micro-abrasions in the material that will allow more dirt to get trapped and become visible over time.
I will try the baby wipes on my Kia Sportages which grey seats. It has jean stains. I used soap and water and amazon sprays and still blue jean stains. Hopefully the baby wipes works

I love the look of the white interior....and plan to get that the next model 3 I get😍. I have a black on black now, which I also love....but have to clean the exterior of my car literally every day because even s light layer of dust shows on the black exterior. I got my m3 in June 2018 and there were no thorough reviews on the white interior ......I have no problem with cleaning....clean some part of my car every day. Plus I do not eat or drink anything other than water in my car as a rule.
i saw coconut oil being very effective to clean the interior, certainly not aggressive... and i love white

The white interior gives the car all you said as well a futuristic look. My Model S is White on White. i have had several cars of many colors and only 2 white cars. to be surprised the white exterior cars were easier to keep clean and maintain. this is my second white interior and the easiest to clean and keep clean.
ArtDeShine dash plastic and also leather ceramic coating. They are easy to apply, do this once a year and transfer is a non issue. I also put a white leather seat cover over it (covers 80% doesn’t cover airbags), so problem solved lol.

Thanks for the comment. So it's still a thing...I have to keep cleaning it. I've heard others say they have used a ceramic coating for interiors that have resisted the transfer, but I have no experience with them. I LOVE the way the white interior looks, but to be honest, I don't like having to wipe down the driver's seat all the time - once every week or two.

No regrets. Cleanup is the same; no issues there. I have a friend with a Model 3 with black interior, and it doesn't look as spacious or as premium inside. Every car maker offers a black interior, so it just doesn't feel that special to me. The white interior is next level, and I will always choose white if it's being offered. I have a Cybertruck on order, and I have a feeling that it will only come with black, but hopefully, I'll have options.
Have you ever had a stain on your seats from the seatbelt (from dye transfer)? I had this from my middle seat in the back. If you did, how did you clean it?

They look the same as they did last year. Just wipe them down maybe once a month and you'll be fine. Truth be told, the white seats are cleaner than black because people DO wipe them down more often. If you're not wiping down your black seats as often as people with white seats, then you're just sitting on dirty seats.

Brian Overman I haven’t had that type of dirt on the seats, but I’ve seen people test them by spilling coffee, spaghetti, red wine...just about everything. It all just wipes up.
Can we all ask Tesla to give us update to apps to reflect correct interior colors? (currently only black interior in climate tab)
My beige leather in my Ford Focus Electric is black from my jeans and needs constant cleaning, I like black! I go for minimal maintenance, why work for your car when you don’t need to!
Yeah man, I hear you. That's why I mentioned that there are 2 different types of people. Those that don't mind wiping them every so often, and others that just want maintenance-free. There are no right or wrong answers. The black seats look great too!

Frankie about every 2 weeks, and it’s mainly just the drivers seat. Takes 5 minutes or less.
Do you have the new car smell with the tesla....not meaning to be trivial, but a lot of the smell, I think comes from all the emissions being released from fabrics, carpet, etc. This causes the inside windshield to get a film and dirt. Have you found this in the Tesla? Thanks for your reply. love your informative videos!

Do you get a glare from the white dashboard panel?
No glare at all. The light reflects only to brighten up the interior and make it look bigger, but there is absolutely no glare in your eyes. I LOVE the white interior.

Thanks for the video. I intended to get white, but I wear only dark colors, and I think I would spend too much time cleaning. Perhaps it's how I enter and exit vehicles, but the seat areas always gets warped like yours. My black interior Model S is holding up well.

@@snowwhite4863 , My wife and I are planning to order later this year - reason for waiting - to see if there are any changes to Model S & X .. we are debating between the Y & X - most likely to go with the Y for value + price , however will not dismiss the X ( pending possible refresh for Model S&X ). My wife may wish to go with a darker interior - we have three cocker spaniels - LOL So not sure which we will decide as far as interior colour .. any suggestions from anyone with pets would be awesome ! I ordered a car yesterday and the delivery is two months away, but I'm still debating about the color of the chairs!! Do not know ! The white is also beautiful but catches dirt and his white is too white like snow and very prominent, and the black is very ordinary 😕😕😕 help me decide
@@Anas.Majdob0511 Both are nice, but the white looks more special and premium. It also opens up the space inside so it "feels" larger than it is. The black looks more like a "normal" car. So think about your own personality. Are you more conservative in the way you dress and generally non-flashy? If yes, then Black may be the way to go. If you don't mind getting extra attention and compliments in the drive-thru windows...lol..then maybe white would be good for you. My car is almost 4 years old, and I STILL get compliments on my white interior. If you wipe your seats down once a week, you'll never have a problem with them. I'll make a general statement about cleanliness. White seats are generally cleaner than black seats. Why? Because people are more vigilant in cleaning their white seats. They clean them more often. They don't want them to stain, so they wipe them down regularly with either baby wipes or a damp microfiber washcloth. Black seats get just as dirty, but people don't wipe them down as often because black hides dirt better. Out of sight, out of mind. I was on the fence too when I ordered mine, but I thought about all the other cars I could have bought, and Tesla was the only one with a special interior like this. I just figured if I'm going in on Tesla...I'm gonna go all in and get the special interior that I can't get on other cars. I'm also a flashy person, so it matches my personality. That doesn't mean it's right for anyone else though; only you can answer that. Hope that helps a little.

Step 1) Start a RUclips channel. Step 2) Act like you own a Tesla - even though you don't yet. Step 3) Upload videos as often as possible with daily Tesla news and product reviews - you don't have to install products on a car to talk about the features, etc. Step 4) Look into "affiliate marketing". Step 5) apply for an affiliate account with Amazon and Abstract Ocean. Step 6) Earn money in your sleep from commission from sales on those affiliate links that you put in the description of your video. Step 7) Use that money each month to pay your monthly car payment. Thanks for watching! Yes, the baby wipes do a great job, and they also serve other purposes like wiping down the dash or cleaning your hands after you've touched money at the toll or drive-thru.
Heard a horror story from UK : a guy placed a wet newspaper ( yeah, it's UK and we have drizzles 364 days a year) and the printing ink was stubbornly stuck to white leather. Sad end of story was, the whole seat had to be replaced
EJV i bet it could have been saved if he caught it sooner, but yeah that sucks. My advice to anyone with white seats is to keep some baby wipes in the glove box so you can wipe up any spills or stains right after it happens.

A question....¿if I want to supercharge the car but I see the charging time will be less than what I would take a brake...can I reduce the power so it charges slower? if so, how much can one reduce the supercharging power? I know the purpose of the Scharging is charging fast but maybe I want to go to the restroom and shop and stuff, so, just wondering...
I’ve never tried to slow it down, so I’m not sure. I think it is common courtesy to charge as fast as you can and move so others waiting in line can charge. That being said, my supercharging only takes between 25 - 40 minutes depending on how depleted my battery is. The screen tells you exactly how many minutes you have, so I just plan around that. If there are a bunch of empty stalls, I’ve left it on the charger while I stepped away. It will text you a warning to move the car once it has finished. Sometimes the warning says it will bill you an idle fee if you leave it too long. I think that only happens when all the stalls are used. I’ve been 20 minutes late before, and never been fined. I was the only car using the stalls though. 🤷🏻♂️

This is a great video, very informative. I also went for a white interior (car as yet to be delivered), even though I wear blue jeans constantly. As you say, it just completes the car. Every car around has black seats (no offence to black interior owners). Wish I'd seen this video before I ordered as I would've used your referral code :(
I've had the white seats for over a year and only deep cleaned them once. They are actually very durable. I also only wear 5.11 pants so I don't suffer from the blue or striations like others do.
I've also never had an issue with the dash granted I can see it being more reflected than the other.
Why is it $1,000 more than black? The Tesla website makes it sound like the materials are better than in the black. Is it an exclusivity issue? I like the white, but not sure if I like it $1K more. Thanks
You are correct that it is an exclusivity thing. Same with exterior paint. Why do some colors cost more than others? The white exterior is a multi coat, so it is more expensive to produce, but it is now the free color. Black is cheaper to produce, but costs the consumer more. The interior is even more ridiculous because the materials are identical in every way except color. The only other difference is the dashboard. The black interior has a wood veneer dash, and the white has some type of ceramic white finish. I really wanted the white seats, so I would rather pay the $1000 than spend all that money on an expensive car that I didn’t love 100%. I have no regrets.
Because Tesla Yeah, I get it. If you’re going to do it, go all in. Still researching all the variables. I’ve seen mention the white interior has additional USB ports but that doesn’t seem to hold true from what I can tell. Exciting times. I remember as a kid in the 60’s thinking about hitting a button in my car and having it drive me to my grandma’s house. I just didn’t think it would be in my lifetime... Larry M same USB ports in both colors. Literally the only differences are color and dash material. I say go with your gut instinct. Here’s something to think about...if you’re trading in a similar sized vehicle, the black interior will look and feel great. If you are downsizing from a larger vehicle (like I did), the white interior definitely feels larger and more open than it really is. Hope this helps.

Like in the '60s, '70s, '80s and early '90s Brougham editions from the Big 3 ?
Yes and No. Yes, the seats are covered in polyurethane (“PU”), but the old car seats that you speak of were made out of polyvinyl chloride (PVC - “Vinyl”). The Tesla seats feel sooooo much better than the old vinyl seats from the 60s - 90's. In fact, this is the same material used on seating material in multi-million dollar yachts. They are very very soft...almost like calfskin leather.

There is an idea of ‘decluttering’ and when that becomes a matter of neurotically hiding everything useful after every use, that is not decluttering, that is an obsessive condition.

I still love the white seats. It does require regular maintenance, but the trade-off is worth it. The interior looks so much more open in white. The black is elegant but feels a tad more claustrophobic.

So what exactly are people taking about saying the interior is cheap?
Mostly people say the interior is cheap because Tesla doesn't use real leather anymore. I personally don't have a problem with that, and I don't think it looks or feels cheap.

scorpion251970 I haven’t really noticed any gaps on my car. Hopefully the latest models have all of those issues taken care of now. I have had other minor issues which I will address in a future video. 😉

yea the fake leather is very soft and comfortable. we test drove a 19 Q50 Luxe and it had fake leather . we ended up getting the 19 Q5S silver sport loaded RWD and the leather wasn’t as comfortable as fake leather but over time they are fine.

should I trade my Shelby for a Tesla?
I'll give you an honest answer. My co-worker let me drive his Shelby GT500, and I let him drive my Tesla. He was blown away by the instant torque and speed. So I'll answer your question with a few questions. Why do you like your Shelby? If it's only because of the sound of the engine and exhaust, or the way that it shifts into gear...then keep the Shelby. The Tesla does none of that. However, if you just like speed and instant speed...the Tesla may be for you. Are you more old school, or more techie? If you prefer analog dials, then keep the Shelby. But if you're into technology and like the idea of controlling features from a phone app and downloading software updates to the car, etc...then the Tesla may be for you. If you're still unsure...the best thing you could do is call your nearest Tesla showroom to schedule a test drive. It's been my experience that people know immediately if they love it or hate it.
