I'm ashamed to admit, I'd *forgotten* Mutsumi Inomatas name shortly after learning about how she died simply because I don't actually know the names of a *lot* of anime artists; but knowing what she gave the world, & how much she inspired *other* artists, my honest hope for her is the same as it is for Akira Toriyama; that being that Shintoism *deifies* her like it did with the like of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Both she & Akira absolutely *deserve* it! & honestly, this Waifu Files episode couldn't have come at a better time because on the 27th of this past March, my 19 year old baby sister who I'd just *started* to mend my relationship with, died from a nocturnal psychological seizure *herself* , though I didn't find out about it until the 30th; we have her ashes with us now, & even though I was *already* appreciating character designs like you showed in this Waifu Files episode, it's got me thinking about character designs even *more* because she was a great anime style artist *herself* . She was *such* a great such artist in fact, that I even asked her if she could do the art for the TTRPG system I'm writing, since an anime artstyle is the kind of art I wanna display it in; naturally, when it started selling, as I *intend* for it to, I offered to give her a hefty cut of the profits. She told me she wasn't interested, which's fair, as it's still in the early stages of writing; but now, whenever I see a good anime character design, especially of a *female* character, I can't help but wonder what she'd think of them; sometimes I even ask her out loud. But I'm dead certain she would've *loved* Mutsumi Inomatas designs. As for *me* , I love all those designs myself, & while I won't bog you down with the details as to not go off on an unrelated tangent, I *have* in fact brainstormed a few *IRL* measures that can be taken to *minimize* bikini armors obvious weakness of a lack of full body protection, while allowing the wearer to benefit from the *legit* advantages it presents; thus making it into a *realistically viable* armor type. Any *petty* element of fiction doesn't *have* to be realistic, but I wanna make a *point* to all the bikini armor haters who hate it on the basis of "practicality" & "realism" . & the fact that it was Mutsumi Inomata, a *woman* , who popularized bikini armor, has only *strengthened* my resolve to do so. That leads me to my suggestion for the *next* couple Waifu Files episodes; knowing that it was Mutsumi Inomata that popularized bikini armor, I think the perfect Waifu Files episode to follow this one up with would be a Waifu Files episode on *Slayers* , as at least in the later seasons & prequel episodes, we see various female characters wearing bikini armor featuring the long triangular shoulder pads that're *clearly* inspired by Mutsumi Inomatas designs. After that, I think *then* would be the perfect time to do a Queens Blade Waifu Files episode because while it's not as *blatantly* obvious as it is in Slayers, almost *every* waifu in the Queens Blade cast wears an outfit with the same aesthetic idea behind it as bikini armor, which Mutsumi Inomata popularized. PS: While unrelated to any of the above, while I don't know if that was the case for *He-man* , Conan the Barbarian only went everywhere he went wearing nothing but a loincloth in the *movie* adaptations of the comics, which they did to make him look more like our *modern* idea of a barbarian; but in the *original* comics, he actually dressed in whatever way was considered appropriate for the culture he found himself in, meaning sometimes he was completely naked, & sometimes he was fully covered up. In *fact* , Conan was only a barbarian in the *original* Greco-Roman sense of the term, meaning *outsider* or *foreigner* , which even applied to *peer* civilizations, which was given away by the fact that whatever language he was speaking (which he spoke *lots* of different languages), he spoke them with a foreign, or barbarous *accent* . Unrelated, but considering you said Velvet wears more clothes than Conan the Barbarian, I felt it was worth letting you know.
As a person who looks at art and design first and gameplay second, I have Mutsumi Inomata to thank for making the characters so cool, beautiful, cute, etc. Otherwise I would've never touched the Tales of Series. I've only finished Berseria, but I'm starting my way through Xillia 1&2 and plan to keep going from there so that I can get the story of all the waifu. RIP Mutsumi Inomata. Your art was truly beautiful. On a different note, I suggest Spice and Wolf, Gushing over Magical Girls, or Zom 100 for the next waifu files.

Fun fact Brain Powered was a creation of Yoshiyuki Tomino the creator of Mobile Suit Gundam and he personaly considers it to be one of his best works alongside Turn A Gundam even though the project just started out as sunrise asking him to make a competor to EVA
I loved the character designs of Xillia series especially Milla,Presa, Muzet, and Fractured Milla. The voice actors and actresses were spot on! Looking forward to a Tales Waifu Files. Keep up the awesome work!

Last time I was so late I was not vacuuming my flat, the staircase and corridors of the building (but I think the time before that when I was I late it was the same). Last time I was so late the animated City Hunter was still running on TV regularly (and that thanks to Mutsumi Inomata).
You should do gundam 00 next. The girls there are fantastic and layered to them best on conflicting ideals or motives Plus the movie too. You gotta see that as well for th yrue conclusion

RIP The only tales games I really wanted to play were the Tales of the world radiant mythology trilogy. Pretty much a kingdom hearts of the Tales series and it looked really interesting, I wish the third game was brought to the states but with how lolcolizers are today…yeah, keep that game away from here.
