Founded in the Canadian capital of Ottawa in 2005, Encephalon have held the electro-industrial scene enthralled for over five years. The trio manages to combine a concentrate wealth of accessibility, club-readiness and last but not least outrageously good vocals.
Starting in 2006 with the track "Responder" - a highlight of the Septic VI compilation - the Canadian trio of Matt Gifford, Sam Mainer and Alis Alias have contributed bona fide hits to no less than seven international compilations. In 2009, the track "Rise" was featured in the cyberpunk film "The Gene Generation" and will also be appearing in the upcoming horror film "Necromantia". High time for Dependent to release the band's first and eagerly awaited LP, "The Transhuman Condition".
Thematically, the album deals with isolation, futurism and human evolution, while musically, the album unites elements of the classic Canadian electro-industrial sound with futurepop melodies in a way you've never quite heard before. Where many albums fall flat in their singleminded pursuit of the dancefloor, Encephalon's succeeds thanks to a remarkable depth and breadth of styles and ideas.

Goth chick who loves industrial tracks, been listening to Goth-Industrial EBM Darkwave for 20 years, just found this band from that Low Budget "The Gene Generation" Movie! Adding them to my house party playlists (my house is a goth club!) lol

This song is a masterpiece. I first heard it from the soundtrack of the movie "The Gene Generation". The movie was "B" grade, the song is not. This song has you wanting more. Just like The Lords of Acid you expect more. This is so much like NIN. I am wondering why you have not progressed. I'd say re'release this song again years later. Send me an angel was re'released 3 times. It hit the charts each time it was released. This song is amazing, release it again. I jumped into Panama wearing sony headphones, listening to "Head like a Hole". You eclipse Trent Rreznor. You are the epitomy of industrial.

I was asked to help launching on the music side ~ The Gene Generation ~ The Writer/producer and I had some interesting side conversations ~ I think the movie would attract so many more people today than 17 years ago too. Hopefully there’s no trouble and yes it’s getting weird with rights and music. I worked only on promotion ~ I had you all launched months before the actual release ~this is exactly why I stopped~I couldn’t even remember my 2nd favorite pick~😂.

@@DependentRecords there was a RUclipsr that did industrial style dance to songs from lots of bands. His name was Tank9. One of his videos was of him dancing to this song. He deleted his RUclips channel, and all that's left of his RUclips presence are videos that other people have reuploaded. The video of him dancing to this song hasn't been... It's something my ex that passed away and I stumbled upon many many years ago because we really enjoyed Encephalon because of the movie Necromentia.
I just wanted to watch Tank9 do his thing when I was in my feelings about Justin, my ex, passing away.
