    Super solid video! I have a 2015 SR - which doesn’t have factory fogs or intermittent wipers. For anyone curious, this video works for 3rd gen Tundras too. Your instructions worked perfectly, thanks!
    Also, where did you find wiring diagrams?

    I followed the steps but lights are not coming on

    • @ballz50401
      @ballz50401  4 года назад +1

      You need to connect the pink wire from the Main Body ECU to one side of your Normally Open fog lamp switch wires. You will also need to connect the other side of the switch wire to a chassis ground location. You can just tape off the other side of the pink wire that would normally go to the multifunction switch. When the switch is pushed/locked in, it will ground the circuit and give the BCM the input it needs to energize the coil on the relay. Make sure to double-check your wiring, fuse, and relay.

    • @waynecash2002
      @waynecash2002 7 месяцев назад

      It’s not a fuse the wire was brittle and broke in half. I have to depin and repin with a new wire and solder back together. Looks like a 22 gauge but I’m not sure.

    I’m trying to do this myself. I have don’t have the blue and yellow wire for the switch. I have an aftermarket wire set up. Two red wires, one yellow, one black..Anyway to tell which one I need to connect to the pink wire? Ground?

    • @ballz50401
      @ballz50401  3 года назад +2

      I had to rewatch my video to help find an answer for you. You'll need an ohm meter to check continuity of your aftermarket switch to find the normally open contacts. You'll then connect one wire to the pink wire going to the BCM and connect the other wire to ground.

    In first gen Tundra, the wiring for the fog lights are already pre-wired. Just install a new fog lights, new relay, new fuse (if it does not have one), and the new switch. Is this not true for the 2nd gen Tundras?

    • @FinalWarsGodjira
      @FinalWarsGodjira 2 года назад

      Probably but the "factory" switch in the 07 is on the turn signal/head light switch... which is a pair in the ass to deal with.

  • @dhsw41800

    What wire would I tap into for an aftermarket light kit that has a red wire to power on the switch? I’m not using the factory wires but the wires that came in the kit. I got the fog lights to work but I cannot find a wire to tap into that only powers the switch on when I turn the ignition switch on. All the wires I tried kept the switch kit on all the time whether the ignition switch was on or not? I thought I tried the pink wire but maybe I didn’t.

    • @ballz50401
      @ballz50401  2 года назад

      I would tap into the cigarette lighter. There's a green wire that's fed off of a 15A fuse. It's switched on in ACC mode.

      I did some more digging and it looks like Tundra doesn't have a fog light on indicator in the instrument cluster like I originally thought. Maybe they added the light in the later years.

    • @ballz50401

    • @ballz50401
      @ballz50401  Год назад +2

      Every kit is different. It's been a few years, but I believe I would have to connect one of non-contact switch wires to the tail lamp green wire and the other to ground. That way the button will illuminate when the parking lights are on.

    Can i Tap on the pink wire instead of cutting it? Wish me luck 🍀

    • @ballz50401
      @ballz50401  3 года назад +1

      Yeah. You could get away with doing that too. The pink wire going to the multifunction switch is probably in an empty terminal so it shouldn't short anything out. I'm not a fan of wire tap connections. I prefer soldering for a professional installation.

  • @FinalWarsGodjira

    Would a t tap work vs cutting the wire?

    • @ballz50401
      @ballz50401  2 года назад

      You could get it done with a T-tap, but they're not my favorite. I'd prefer butt spice connectors over T-tap, but that involves cutting the wire.
