The Secret Service is obligated to provide equal protection to former presidents, so that's a moot point. Unless refused, they're also supposed to protect the VP and candidates for either office, their spouses, their children, and any other immediate family. They're also obligated to protect important visiting foreign officials as well as any of their immediate family traveling with them. It can be a big list.

I'm 52 years old and I know that if kids went to school with me back in the day that looked like him, they sent him to the back of the school.
