SCAD Residence Hall Tour: The Hive

- The Savannah College of Art and Design Savannah campus offers on-campus housing in spacious residence halls throughout the city. Within the last few months, several dorms have experienced updates and renovations while others are entirely brand new. Additions include six new buildings to The Hive complex: Apiary, Bumble, Dance, Everest, Flower, Garden. Dorms Honey and Colony opened last fall. Each hall at The Hive is four-stories, coeducational, and can hold 250 first-students. Suites at The Hive include two double-occupancy rooms for four students.

I loveee this i looked at the different hive buildings there was one that i didn't see a picture for the common room (i think thats what its called) but out of the ones i did see flower was my fave. I rlly wanna go here for performing arts even tho I'm only in 5th grade
I really want to go here too(for animation)! As a junior I have to look for colleges , but I think I found the college I really want to go to

Hello. Does anyone know how high the bed is (the dimensions) I want to get my daughter a bookcase headboard, but I'm not sure if it would be tall enough. Also can any previous resident that ever had a bookcase/storage headboard, please inform of the type and place of purchase? She will be attending this fall. Greatly appreciated.

I just got accepted into SCAD today!! I was wondering though, do the dorms look like that when we move in or is that just an example of someone's personalized room?
Trigoaticorn _ that’s just an example. When you get in everything’s blank so you can personalize it yourself!

@@smalldarkfan well you probably know this by now but you get all the cabinets and things in the dorm. The only thing you need is bedsheets and a pillow! You can bring things to personalize your room but they give you the base things.

Yes they are air conditioned and you have the ability to control the temperature.

Any crime in Savannah?
Yep. A lot. Just like everywhere else.
Yeah there's a lot but that's what it's like in other bigger towns and cities. Just stay out of the danger zones and don't walk alone at night, or alone at all, and you should be good
Yes there is crime like anywhere else, but downtown savannah (where scad is primarily located) is pretty safe. SCAD security is placed at every building and we have SCAD safe ride in case you ever feel in danger or uncomfortable. I myself have experienced cat calling a few times but have never been, seen, or heard about anyone- specifically SCAD students being attacked.
@@lexiobrien1007 That's good to hear. When I went (back in 2003), it was not safe. Everybody I knew was getting mugged left and right, especially around the dorms. I had one close call myself.
