Greetings from Poland. It's really magnificent that there are people like you, who are teaching how to have wear with class and to have properly fitted clothes.
Question about “Loafers” what colour socks do you recommend, socks the same colour as the shoe or the same colour as the trousers. I have often wondered which is correct.
It’s a complicated thing as when I showed the measured size 7 and then added 2 to get size 9 ( the 7 actually measures 10”… ?) . Short answer I don’t know , it was how I was shown , but it works. There are quite a few methods also complicated🤝🤝
Outstanding! Next suits? In high school I worked at local department store selling men’s and women’s shoes. Carson’s taught us how to count and account for the till and do paperwork but never did they teach us about fitting someone for shoes. It was in early 70’s and I’ll never forget how women would try on boots that came up to their knees! I always wore a U.S. 10.5 until I was in my 30’s and was measured and had a size 12. Never did I think that feet may grow with age like ears and noses. Well done Sir
Always learning from your channel Jeremy. Interesting to discover that some shoes may not be appropriate based on your foot shape. P.S. thank you for the shoe stretching tip using a broom handle. I have some Church’s loafers Ryan now fit better as a result!
Yes, I agree about the loafers. Unfortunately, I can't wear them because my foot has no arch. Once the leather stretches, the once perfectly good shoe is gone. All of my Oxford shoes are laced up; even my chukka boots have to have three laces up, not two. In the USA, a person with no arch is called flat foot.
I have only recently discovered your videos and absolutely love it. I'm 65 and an ex army warrant officer, so I'm quite particular about my dress both at work and in civilian clothes. Please correct me if I picked this up wrongly. Did you say, Measure your feet and add 2 sizes to get your proper shoe size? I've always worn a size 7 and this would mean wearing a 9. I look forward to watching more of your fascinating videos 👍
Thank you very much!. The shoe measuring stick we use is simple yet complicated method . I’ve never tried to work it out . I’ve just measured the way I was shown with this system ( there are a few). If a 7 shoe fits you, stay with it. ( on the shoe measure you would measure a 5, add 2 to give 7)…. I have the task of finding out why now 🤝🤝😂
Terrific video. Is your measuring system specific to the UK? Have you tried the Brannock device? If so, why do you prefer your stick system? Keep up the good work.
I often struggle with the toe area. What if the outer part of the big toe contacts the toe box, producing a slight inward pressure? I have heard some say this is okay, and that it allows a nicer appearance from the outside, bit to me it seems like asking for trouble!
Hello Jeremy My grandad always wore brown Oxford shoes - he wouldn’t be seen dead in black leather as he said poor quality leather could be dyed black. This has been passed down the generations and none of us has ever worn black shoes! He was born in 1898 so it could be a war thing.

Thank you! 😃
I’m really enjoying being tutored in style of shoes, shirts jackets and so on. Thank you
Glad you like them🤝
I bought a very nice pair of black toecap oxfords from here and they are excellent.
Thank you 🤝

For me … match nearest to the trousers🤝
You are correct about Loafers I have several pairs which have stretched a little bit too loose.
We learn from experience, but it’s tempting in the shop to go for instant comfort🤝
I used to love oxfords but now I also ❤loafers. Unfortunately my feet are quite broad and sometimes it’s not easy. Thank you for this great video.
You're so welcome!
Where does the +2 come from when measuring? Lovely vid, thanks.

Thank you … they also can get smaller if a person loses considerable weight !🙏🤝🤝
@@rhodeswood5513 an interesting post script! Any chance to get some jumpers/sweaters in cotton in 3xl?

Thank you and glad the broom was useful🤝🤝

Yes I believe it is the same in the UK🤝
I have a similar problem. Consider wearing an insole - Saphir makes a good one that comes with arch support.
Just come across your videos, they are superb. Would love to visit your store one day. Simon
Please do and thank you🤝

Our pleasure … best wishes from Harrogate🤝

Thank you
We kind of inherited this system , so this coupled with ‘rock of eye’.. seems to work🤝
When you refer to the “right kind of last for your foot,” what does that mean. I thank you for your very practical advice. Thank you.
I mean a wide last for a wide foot or a last with high instep for the foot with a high instep🤝🤝

Go with what is comfortable 🤝
Hallo Jeremy, thanks for one more interessting Video. What do you wear for casual Time? Thank you and lovley greetings from Germany ❤
Thank you 🙏… at home pyjamas…. Or a polo shirt and jeans/chinos 🙏
How is the width sizes UK shoes versus the US?
Generally US shoes are narrower , varies from each maker. We find our E fitting suits most , but we do see more long , narrow feet from US clients

Interesting theory!… I remember an old boy Yorkshire shoe agent saying “Browns comfier ‘n’ black”🤝
Good advice I like your hair
Thank you🤝
Great video! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Do you carry a Brown suede Oxford dress shoe similar to the kind you're wearing in this video? I wear a 9.5 USA
Yes we have the exact same in stock 🤝
Thank you
You're welcome🤝

On this particular measure system yes🤝🤝
Wish I had Freddy's hair.

I never realised one foot is bigger than the other. Ears are the same. I wonder if ears correspond to the feet?
Very possibly but the left and right of the body are usually slightly different🤝
The one side of your body is different from the other side. If you have never noticed 😮

Try on new shoes well after lunch in the late afternoon when your feet are naturally swollen
An informative video, thanks for doing it. Not everyone wears trainers though 😉. I certainly don’t.
That deserves a 🤝
