    Pulse Jet Engines make massive Sound Waves.Could you get the noise down perhaps with two Jets side by side made somehow to run Constructive interference.

    What will be the resultant frequency of two wave when they are 90 deg out of phase?

    Can someone please help me? Why does anti reflection coating of lenses have to be a quarter of the wavelength of light, if both of the reflected waves (from the first surface and the second surface) will undergo 180 degree phase change? Won't they interfere constructively in any way, despite the thickness of the coating, since the reflected rays will be exactly the same as the incident wave, except they BOTH will be 'flipped upside down', having the same phase (no phase change between the two reflected waves)? Both of the reflected waves should undergo 180 degree phase change and therefore, interfere constructively.

    Also what if the wavelengths of the two waves were difference,would it be possible to get constructive or destructive interference?

      In general, you would get both, depending on how the waves add together.

    As waves transfer Energy, the energy received from a neighboring particle gives momentum to the medium's particle to move. But, what would make a particle move upward in a transverse wave or either downward? i.e. what is the physical determent of direction?

    What it is only 50 degrees(any angle other than 0,180 and 360 degress) out of phase? would it be constructive or destructive interference?

      it will be somewhere between them, depending on how close it is to being in phase or out of phase

    If you disrupt someone playing a video game, that is destructive interference if he or she doesn’t like it, but is constructive interference if it is to make him or her spend more time on study.

      it means the waves are shifted at a phase 180 degrees , so the amplitudes of both waves will cancel one another at any time.

    I thought that a sound wave was a longitude wave, in the video it is a transfer wave.

      Andres Mariscal that's a displacement Vs time graph of a sound wave. It just shows how the displacement changes with time. Sound is still longitudinal but the diagram you are accustomed to is the actual position of the particles itself which would show the compressions and rarefactions
