Trevor’s always been interesting. Despite his many issues, inside he’s loyal and has his positives.
I always thought the mother scene was a hallucination designed to show the players why Trevor is probably the way that he is.

thanks for putting this together. I think it's pretty obvious with a trauma-informed lens that his mother emotionally and sexually abused him as a child and potentially into his teens. It's used to feed the parent's narcissistic personality. at the same time Trevor was subjected to his father's physical abuse. which, instead of it becoming a trigger like with his mom, he internalized the violence. (Unfortunately a common response, especially for a son looking to his father as an example of how to perform masculinity.) Also, his sexual preferences for women are mostly older women, and even Patricia has similar hair to his mom's...
I know Trevor is popular for being funny and "badass", but in all honesty, it's not an inaccurate depiction of how trauma can affect a person. the underlying thing that isn't talked about too much in the game is how the pain of that trauma led to drug use. it's always played as a joke to keep the game feeling lighthearted, So his emotions and actions are cranked up to a thousand whenever we see him. (no pun intended). But he must be hurting so badly. It's a good reason behind why he has such a soft spot for Michael's kids, and such an intense need for close and reliable friendships like Michael and Franklin.
I love Trevor Phillips.

I don't often need to put the warnings up, but because of the content contained I thought it best. At least people become aware
I think Trevor's mother was just a hallucination. You can see the green fog during that cut scene, which is only visible if a character is on drugs. This hallucination only happens after the main story is complete, because during the story, Trevor was constantly stressed over Michael's betrayal and all of the other shit happening. After everything was dealt with, his mind moved on to the next thing, which was prob thinking of his mother
Also, his mother seems to be in prison in Canada. Trevor lives in the middle of fucking nowhere in San Andreas. There's no fucking way his mother knows where he lives!
