Taipei is known to be English speaker friendly. There was actually an English button on the machine that adds money to your subway card. I know because I can't read Chinese very well.

You were so right to go there for a food paradise experience. I grew up on the Formosa island. Fifty years of Japan rule before it went back to the Republic of China made an imprint on the cultural traditions of the people still living there. You could easily detect Japan's influence on Taiwanese cuisine, packaging, decor and many other aspects of life.

Yay! I'm happy you seemed to have a good time in Taiwan! And you went to my mom's hometown, Danshui, which is one of my favorite places in the world, so it makes me so happy you took time to see it. IDK if you knew about this fact, but the mountain across the water is named Guan Yin Mountain, after the buddha. If you look at it from certain angles, not really from the one in your vlog, it looks like Guan Yin's face's profile from the side. Just thought I should mention it because ever since my Grandma pointed it out to me, I can't un-see it and I think it's a really fun piece of trivia. I hope you come to San Francisco sometime! It's not as fun as Taiwan, but it's also one of my favorite places in the world!
I always wanted to visit Asia , never did any of it , i hope to sometime soon find the strenght to do it ! Let me know when you plan a trip in Norway ! I would be more than happy to help you here and meet you !! Big hugs !!
