1.) If you think fields are bad now, just look at old NFL Films footage. 2.) Even the best quarterback has to have a decent team around him. Among other details, even a quarterback can't throw the ball to himself. 3.) Sports are played by human beings not by computers. 4.) I'm old enough to remember Packers fatigue during the Lombardi era. Great teams find ways to win when they aren't at their best.. 5.) The NFL really isn't all that different now than it was in the '60s and '70s. Some of the peripherals are different, but the game still comes down to blocking and tackling. What happened in the past has no bearing on what happens now. All of those fancy hotels in Las Vegas were built with the money bettors lost by thinking that way. All one ever finds out from any game is which team was better that day.
As a fan of the game, I want to see the best against the best. AS a long time Rams fan until they left, losing in the snow was their thing. I hate weather deciding games. Maybe I'm biased. 😛
