Well. Retired law-enforcement officer here. For me when I was on the job I didn’t care about what my department thought of me. I just wanted to take bad guys to jail for the crime they committed. I wanted the public to know that I took a job that I could die for someone I didn’t know. I did my job knowing that I was the sheepdog protecting the flock. Gonzo.

But when my children and I needed protection from a stalker, I got nothing but falsely accused of a crime by local yokels. (That was proven to be false because I had video.)
