I love these videos of yours. I have two dutch army tents also. I am hoping to do some serious camping before and over Christmas time. Thank you for sharing this video with us 🤠👍🍺
I Say Allan Old Chap! Splendid video in the old trusted Dutch Army Tent! Yes, a heavy one but worth it for the comfort. Glad you liked the meatballs and pleased we're friends with the Italians again 😁 great idea on the tarp! Great video!
I really enjoyed your video. Was searching the Dutch army tent. Makes me appreciate my trangia for heating up my MRE meas because it takes a lot of gas. Alan, just received my Dutch Army tent here in the South, can you do more on this tent particularly the different tarp arrangements over the tent as that's what we all are interested in. Keeping that canvas dry.
Enjoyed that Allan. Good move getting out before the deluge or that tent would be weighing even more! Unusual seeing you out on a solo! Hope all well. Look forward to the next vid. Have a good week - Ben 👍
Long as the canvas is in good order and its been treated, they are fine. Remember these tents are over 30 years old now. People think they are just going to buy one and use it and that's not the case.
That looked a nice chilled out night, I would definitely get a replacement mesh for your fire, those pits are amazing lightweight and versatile, Wil be using mine next week, we are going to have a cheese on toast followed by banana custard tea in the woods 😁
Nice to see you on a solo Scout, also a different woodland to view. It's deffo getting colder, I was out last night and it was 4 degrees and a bit breezy in the woods. Cheers.
Its around 5kg. Heavy canvas, thick rubber floor, big metal poles and big standard pegs. Swap out the poles for walking poles and switch to lightweight pegs, you could save about a kilo. Thanks for watching.
@@jim-bob-outdoors thanks for the reply. I've just brought the Robens Goshawk 2 as my 4 season tent. 2 man and about 3.9kg, just wanted to compare what some others are prepared to carry weight wise.

My pleasure. Nothing special, just a video diary of sorts.

I like the look of the Dutch Army tent. The more video's I see of people using them, the more it makes me really want to get one.
Its a bit heavy but a great tent.
Cracking vid m8 enjoyed 😁👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful pitch! What a great outing and the food looked great 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
You definitely won the 'Firepit of the Year' award for that 'log cabin' set up, mate, cheers for the video :) .
My pleasure, it was fun.
Great setup, the Dutch tent is a favourite of my collection
Its heavy but a good one.
Every Tent should have a Tarp. Space for Admin, like sitting, cooking. peeing in a bottle etc. NIce set up Al.
Works for me. 👍

Can do, I am out this weekend with something different but I can do something on covering the Dutch. You say in the south, what part?

Glad you enjoyed it Ben. I dont mind solo in the summer, but with the long dark evenings we have now, I get a bit board.
Love the tarp and tent configuration!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
Great camp Allen. Really enjoyed this video - very respectful and diplomatic on a non-permission. Cheers Bud 👍
Thanks for watching Giles.
I liked your tent tarp set up Alan, very tidy. I also really liked the end of the video had a real steady cam Blair Witch horror vibe😅
Glad you enjoyed it mate, that was a while back. I will have to watch it back. 😁
Love to have a tent like that but twice as tall. Lose the stealthy low profiile but it would be more roomy. Be that much heavier too.😊
Another cracking effort Jim bob I had similar hat it blew off in to the river and was swept out to sea 😂
Bugger. 😒
I do like those tents another great video
Thanks 👍They are good, just heavy.
Good camp allen
Thanks. 😁
Nice set up!.....but from what i'm seeing on the Dutch Army tent......make sure you cover it with a large tarp lol

Time to get the warmer gear out thats for sure.
I'll be glad when I can get back out
Give it time, dont rush.
Yes, I see that you do own a Dutch army tent. How warm is it in vold weather? I'm thinking of buying one. Atb Taff 🤠👊
Very good Taff, holds the heat in nicely.
Nice setup JB . Like the look of those tents mate. A wet camp there. Atb fella 🏕👍
They are great tents, a little heavy but thats ok if not going too far.
@@jim-bob-outdoors Yes they look good bits of kit. Take care JB 👌
Have you tried fabsealing it making it waterproof..Great set up ..thanks ..Lee
It is fabsealed mate. They still absorb water, it just dont come through. I just could not be arsed to dry it afterwards. 😂
Maybe you need a stealth wheel barrow? 🤣 🤣
😂👍
If you can't turn the tarp diamond couldn't you just shift the tent 45 degrees?😅
Nope, it was on the only flat bit. 😁
Nice one
Thanks for watching
Nice video.. how much does the tent weigh?

I bought 2 Kombat UK trooper tents and a basha, does anyone have one? any good?
Knock off of the French F2 as far as I know. Not seen one up close myself though.
so is it reflective side down or up on sleeping mats?
makes bugger all difference unless you have an air gap to radiate heat. Was just using the foam to insulate me from the ground.
