Hi Liam, no I didn't sand the parts before gluing but cleaned the surface on the car very well with alcohol (ethanol or isopropanol). The side skirts are still on the car since then and haven't had any issue since I mounted them 🙂
What type of adhesive did you use ? and did you clean first with acetone, if not what did you use ? Looking to add just painted stone guards and body shop declined to do it. Thanks
Hi Joe, I cleaned the surface with alcohol first (I think acetone might be to aggressive for the paint). Then the parts came with 3M adhesive tape on them and I added a glue for car parts from a German brand (see other comments). It's holding on tight until now and never had an issue with it.
My friend the glue what type it is?I mean like glue for windows?plastics?and also your side skirts were a straight line or were a little bit curve?did you had to pressure them so to fit?
Hi! As explained in the other comments the glue I used is called Elch Pro P1, which is a German brand for car bodies and last very well while staying elastic. I am sure there are other alternatives in your country (for car spoilers etc). The side skirts (OEM Audi) were straight but flexible so fitted to the shape of the car, so I didn't have to apply pressure but just tape them for 24hours to keep them in place.
@@yumingmonkeyboy thanks for answering my friend.mine are also flexible have a little curve.the bigger if I can say so part is in the front and the thinner end is on the rear side?thanks again!
@@Δημητρης-δ3θ the side skirts came with double sided stripes on them which I also used. I applied a line of glue only at the bottom edge + where the clips are . All other areas will no have contact with the car.
Hi, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere hatte ich sie direkt bei Audi bestellt. Lackiert hatte ich sie selber. Die genauen Kosten weiß ich leider nicht mehr, ca. 250€
Hey Andrew, I used Elch Pro P1, it is a German brand. You are right, originally it gets installed with clips but I found this method easier and didn't have to drill holes in my car 🙂
Hey Michael. No I haven't removed them, they are stick rock solid. If yours are sticking rather than just badged I believe it will be really hard to remove without damages
What size are those wheels? They look slightly different from the more common version of these (18 inch)...yours have a deep dish effect when the bolts are - very nice.
I have audi a4 and have already the side skirts. But I would paint them in black. For that I have to dismantle them. Do u have any idea how I can do it easily
@@yumingmonkeyboycan you remember if it's 80ml tube and it's a sufficient quantity? Because I see some site selling it by a 5x pack and some at same price for 1x piece. Also your cars body has that special paint with a rough surface and it did stick right?
@@avn7555 hi, I remember buying 2 tubes and only using one for both sides, because you don't want that stuff coming out when you are pressing the skirts against the car. Must have been 80ml yes. And I didn't have any issues with the surface of the paint on that area, just make sure you clean it very well beforehand. Hope that helps 😉

Hi mate
Sorry to dig up an old vid
Did you sand the sill or side blade at all before gluing?and any issues since putting them on?

Hi.. What is the Audi part Number for those side skirts?..

Wo hast du die her? Und hast du sie selber lackieren lassen? Was hat das alles zusammen gekostet? Danke dir 🙏

How did those side skirts hold up with only the glue? Did you have any problems yet with it falling off?
Hey, they are holding perfectly and no sign of change. This glue is very strong and is used in the car industry as well.
@@yumingmonkeyboy awesome! Thanks!
can i find something like that fos a6 c6 ?
It should have been installed with clips. What glue did you used?

Great video, where can i purchase this panel?
Hi, bought them directly from Audi
@@yumingmonkeyboy how much
Hi, what glue?
Great vid - so helpful! So did you use the existing adhesive strips on the top of the skirts, and glue the bottom edges only?
Hi, ues that's correct. I used the strips and put the glue only at the lower edge and at the middle where the clips are supposed to be. Cheers
Do you still have the car ? If yes are they still holding on ok ? Cheers
Hey Ken, yes I still have it and they are holding on just fine! 😉
How do you remove?
Hey did you remove this yourself or did you just install it? I'm looking to take off mine but not sure if its just the same technique as de badging?
Hey Michael. No I haven't removed them, they are stick rock solid. If yours are sticking rather than just badged I believe it will be really hard to remove without damages
Nice job. What glue did you use?

Hey Adib, thanks. Those are 18 inch and pretty standard. They are not deep dish ;)
Side skirts are genuine or no? Why didn't you fix rocker panel clips?
Hi, yes they are directly from Audi. The solution with the clips sounded too complicated to me :)
I have audi a4 and have already the side skirts. But I would paint them in black. For that I have to dismantle them. Do u have any idea how I can do it easily
I would paint them on the car, masking everything else
Can I have the measurements for placement please?
Hi, it's 4cm from the front and the back and 1cm from the upper edge
Hi, what's the name of the glue? Cheers!!!
Hi, the glue is called Elch Pro P1 1K-PU (it's a German brand). Cheers
