John Lewis really was such an incredible man to have ever been around so much of the Civil Rights Movement, and then along with other marchers, later on in his and America's life. This is a true story: when I was 13, my family and I had saw him being interviewed by the news, about Obama's first Inauguration and when I was unaware of who he was and such after we had our picture with him, (when not many teachers have discussed him, nor taught me more of the people around the CRM) my mother told me all about him, and I was just amazed at how he has seen so much in his eyes and in his heart, for what he wanted to see America stand for, just like with MLK Jr. And now that he sadly passed on, it's gonna take a whole lot of heart and motivation to remember all that he wanted us to do, when it comes to voting and marching peacefully for Peace, Love, Hope, and for Black Lives that matter. John Lewis, thank you for your "good trouble" and thank you for motivating me to keep on being positive for what continues to go on in this country, no matter what the crisis is and who is running it.
What an absolute amazing and inspirational persons I ever heard. RIP my friend from a white republican who loves all people. Please note I will be in Alabama in September and plan to honor you live on Facebook Live ar the bridge. You have deeply inspired me!!!
Mr. Lewis was an American HERO 🇺🇸He endured much abuse that made a true impact enabling equality. Immense respect for this man of bravery, intelligence and grace. A true patriot of peace. Thank you sir for making this world a much better place. ☮️💟🛐🕊🌹🕯
This was so moving.... John Lewis one of the “truest” heroes broke my heart seeing and hearing the news of his death/passing. 😢🥀😔 He captivated my twenties, rest in power always Mr. John Lewis sir.🕊
Racism comes on behalf of satan, God commanded that we love each other as He loves us and the way we love ourselves. The racists are blinded by the devil, we must pray for them.
One of the most consequential and important lifetimes in American political history. It aches so bad that Congressman Lewis is no longer with us! #GoodTrouble 😢 2020 was a hard and cruel year.
I’ve never seen a memorial or statue and never knew knew his name. I live in Troy and ran a business in Selma AL and never heard his name! When integration came I was going to a new high school! The school had a grade point average of 3.6 on a 4 point grade point avg! 4 yrs later mist white families moved out and moved outside and built expensive homes and new schools! The new schools didn’t offer free breakfasts and lunches! And our football, baseball teams were number 1 in all city sports and state conferences! The giv literally gave them homes and 2 yrs later the homes were trashed the lawn were bare dirt and they still make up over 75% of all people in the housing projects! We’ve GIVEN THEM AND STILL DO give them welfare food stamps 1/2 price for utilities that whites can’t get! Don’t tell me that’s fare!
If you have issues with black people, LGBT and immigrants you have a problem because you are uneducated. You have been given everything and still can't accomplish sh**! Don't blame others because you are dumb Robert. You can fix it! You still have time to go back to school and get an education. They have school online as well. If you can't read go find a tutor because right now you are a simpleminded person showing how stupid you are. We forgive you though. God is LOVE!

The way the press has been acting you'd think he was John Paul II or Mother Teresa. There's no doubt he was brave and heroic in young adulthood, as a Congressman not so much.

Robert Fletcher I don’t know what’s worse your reply or your spelling or misspelling of restaurant. Anyway, it’s obvious you can’t open a closed mind.

How wasn’t he ? He always stood strong on his moral values something missing today in politics and he has did well by the people of his district.
Which begs the question, what have you done to improve your country, lately?😉
