    So very improved, it's startling! Her joy and speed, and actual choreography in a program, are fabulous. The jumps are coming back after the growth spurt and will continue to improve, I'm sure. Her technique is far more solid now. I'm enjoying her journey.

    Going by how she has been scored earlier this season, she really could have won the bronze here if she was clean. She is improving though. Just look at where she was at this time last season. Everyone was saying she was one hundred percent done. Is she at the level of the top Russians? No, but she is getting better.

      @@user-kb9bc4gl5g I didn’t even mention Kamila 😂 I said she might have won bronze IF she was clean. She scored a 144 earlier this season which would have been enough to go over Kostornaia in this competition.

    I was hoping she'd be the one to dethrone the Russians. She used to have a good 3A and I've seen her do Quads but it looks like growth spurt has affected her skating.

    • @mattcastg5170
      @mattcastg5170 2 года назад +8

      Well its old news that the growth spurt has affected her jumps.. Last year was a complete disaster for her after a rapid growth spurt really killed her consistency on jumps, likely contributed to her facing more injuries & really destroyed her triple axel and quads.. Whats new this season is just how much shes fought back and improved. I think right now its hard to argue shes in the top position for US Ladies (granted we haven’t seen Bradie yet) and that is just not something people were expecting to say last year when the consensus seemed to be she was finished. She’s still not back to her peak abilities but its pretty awesome to see just how much shes improved in 9 months time.. the fact we’re even talking about her having the possibility to get back a consistent clean 3A speaks to the improvement we’ve seen from her.

    a lot of arguing in this comment section and im here for it. but lemme put my take out there. lets give these russians 1-2 years and then see whos better, alysa or them. i argue against the russians, theyre gonna lose their quads, be diagnosed for an eating disorder, and have a severe injury to their back causing them only being able to jump salchows and toeloops. history repeats itself people, these russians are gonna stay on top for one more season before we’re out w the old and in w the new. watch.

    She grew from 4'8" to 5'2" but I think she's still growing. Looks like she's 5'4"-5'5" now. She had 2 mishaps but since she's not Russian she doesn't get the "Oh but the degree of difficulty" pass. Her FS did not merit a 7th place finish.

      I refer to her as the tortoise on ice. She is EXTREMELY slow and I feel like her speed got even worse, to the point of Caroline Zhang slow, which is pretty damn slow lol. She managed to win prior competitions with fake quads (notice the edge take off on toe jumps and severely underrotated landings) and fake triple axels that she got credit for. Thankfully she is getting called for underrotations, but she is still being overmarked on PCS. She should have been last place in this competition.
